"Walter was great! Explained the entire process (had carpets stretched in 3 rooms). Carpets looked brand new when he was done. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend."

"When my Ultrasuede sofa and Karastan area rug needed a professional cleaning, I contacted On Time Carpet Cleaning based on the sheer volume of great reviews here on Angie's List. And now that my job has just been completed, I'm here to say: believe what you read! If anything, the work of Nathan, the owner, exceeded my high expectations. I found Nathan to be super knowledgeable about his business, a source of great advice about how best to do the work, passionate about getting the job right, very fairly priced and a person of his word when it comes to being punctual and performing the work on schedule. My job took two visits, The first involved a deep cleaning of my Ultrasuede sofa, which Nathan did with great care, taking his time, until it looked the best it has since it was new. I was very impressed. He also took out my Karastan area rug for binding repairs and a hand wash process with blocking. This involved some juggling of furniture in my living room but that was "No problem!" for Nathan. He made the whole process really easy. Today, Nathan re-delivered the rug right on time, with the bindings perfectly repaired and the carpet looking more beautifully cleaned than I could have imagined. I had honestly forgotten how vibrant the print and colors of the rug once looked, and now it looked that way again. Overall, this was a terrific experience for which I'm happy to give my highest recommendation. Nathan is totally committed to his clients being happy with his work, and it shows!"

"Ricardo and his crew did an overall good job with my floor project. What I needed done was sanding and staining about 1200 sf of a wood floor (about 500 sf was an old floor, 700 sf was a brand new unstained floor, and a 14 step staircase). A challenge on the old floor was areas where repair were needed; some places there were holes that needed to be repaired, plus the staircase had already been shellacked by my general contractor, and I needed ricardo to strip the shellac (i think it was done by hand) and restain it. They did a fine job sanding, staining, and polyurethaning with bona mega. In hindsight, I wish I had asked for bona HD traffic but I didn't know to ask. The good things that Ricardo did: -helped me pick out a stain that I to this day really love. -recommended bona water based, and bona floor care products. -kept in good communication before the job -showed up on time -did a good job with the floor repairs -"saved" my staircase; which my GC screwed up by shellacking without asking me about staining. Ricardo's crew sanded the shellac off by hand, and did a very nice job staining it to what I wanted. -got the job done quickly, 2 and 1/2 days. -gave me some good floor care advice what did not go well, and I wasn't happy with: -an innocent mistake, but his guys left two large bags of floor sawdust from sanding on my balcony. they forgot to clean it up after they were done, and I had to haul it myself. -Ricardo never gave me my final invoice and warranty info like he promised numerous times. After the 4th attempt I just gave up trying. -never followed up with me after I expressed concerns that maybe the floor wasn't as shiny (I asked for semi-gloss) as I thought semi gloss was supposed to be. many people that have come by say the floor's really satin, not semi gloss. to this day I can't really tell. the lack of follow up after the job was done, to this day, still annoys me. I think overall the floor was done well though, but after a year and a half of experiencing it; I've convinced myself that it is probably OK. -a little sloppy on some parts of the staining job. I saw various areas where stain got onto my wall or fairly high up on the baseboards. -would have been nice if Ricardo advised me to wipe down the walls afterward; i realized many months later that the walls had a thin layer of sanding dust. Didn't realize this for a while. Overall a good job, and I think I would hire him again, but with some hesitation."

"It was fine. Truly, when it comes to Angie’s List, it’s a great deal. By the time you do all those add-ons, it’s not what it appears to be. For instance, they weren’t going to use any pre-soak or what you call something that gets out heavier stain. If you want to use the pre-soak, it’s going to cost you another $39 or another $49 or whatever it might be. They’ll upsell like anything else. They will show up and do something but basically, they are just going to run some water in your carpet. If you really want to get it clean and use the extra soap or the better detergent, they’ll upsell you. I ended up paying extra money. They made it very clear that I’m not going to have a clean carpet if I didn’t use the extra detergent or whatever it was that we needed. They helped move the furniture for me. They were very nice. It’s all very nice. They were good. It was just that the reality is it's not what it appears to be."

"George returned my call the same day and performed the service that same evening.  George was punctual and fully explained the process for stretching my carpet and the price for the service.  He did a great job and the really cool part was that he was able to stretch the carpet without having to remove the furniture.  If I knew it would be this easy, I would have had the job done a long time ago!!"

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Corona, NY

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
