"Cary explained the brands of carpet and what would work well in a basement. Had a good selection. Let me bring home samples to see how they looked in the room. Made purchasing easy and install easy. Had additional effort to move around a pool table which was not an issue. Only thing I would want more help with is more "design" opinion on what is popular but has longevity since I had not bought carpet in awhile. But that was a minor thing! <br />"

"Their team was quick to book us same day for the work we needed done and arrived on time. They were respectful with being clean and careful while moving their equipment throughout the house. They took the time to clearly explain their process and answer questions. As the liquid was removed and the smell eliminated with no discoloration of the carpet, I can’t imagine it going any better. Angie’s List had a 30% off coupon for new customers at the time but I was so pleased with their service that I didn’t mention it so that they could be paid appropriately for their efforts. Highly recommend these guys - you may pay more than some competitors, but you will get you what you pay for, which means it’s less likely you’ll have to pay again in the future to deal with the same problem again."

"Our salesman, Bob, worked with us through numerous moments of indecision. Once we selected the carpet we wanted, he ordered it and told us we could expect delivery in about a week. <br /> <br />We received the call from the installation coordinator within a week. Since it was a big job, he scheduled the work for two days. <br /> <br />The installers were here promptly at 8:00 a.m. and started immediately. They worked steadily. <br /> <br />We are very satisfied with the entire experience! <br /> <br />Thank you. <br />"

"He was about 15 minutes late, but he did call beforehand to let me know he would be. But other then that they did a great job, my carpets were clean and totally dry in about 3 hours, not 3 days! I was not expecting this level of service for the price i paid. Im telling all my friends to never have their carpets steam cleaned again!"

"I highly recommend Rich. During our initial meeting, we discussed our flooring project and my expectations. Within two days, Rich provided a quote for the job and we set up an installation date that was convenient for me and my family. The new floor was installed professionally and efficiently. Rich also took the time to make sure that the closet doors were hung correctly and installed a doorway threshold that looked better than the threshold which I provided for the job. I could not have been more pleased with his work. Two days after the floor was installed, Rich called to make sure we were satisfied with the work he had done. It is Rich?s attention to the little details that make him an excellent service worker. He also is a kind and considerate person and a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to contact him for future projects in my home. He is also an excellent resource person for recommendations on other service worker projects in the home."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Cortland, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
