"We had a water issues in our basement for many years so I called several places to get a quote for the repair. Ron came and explained me clearly what's the issue was and offered much reasonable price for the repair than any other places. The day for the repair went smoothly. All the workers were professional and got their job done. This was done 2 years ago and I haven't see any water issues ever since. Ron is knowledgeable and easy to talk to, I would highly recommend this company to fix your water issues in a basement!"

"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"The bank required us to have a well drilled on our property when we bought the house, but we did not hook it up. We continued to use the spring that was connected to the house for 35 years. On the evening of August 15 local flooding of a creek across the road took out our spring and we were without water on Friday. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Late Friday I called Randolph's and left a message. They got back to me Saturday morning and was out to the house by 8:30 a.m. to look over the job. He explained thoroughly everything they would have to do. Monday evening, August 19, they came to the house with an estimate. We were unsure whether to try to test the well first, or to just put it in. Randolph's called us Tuesday evening with some questions. We also had many questions about water safety, what to do if the water wasn't good? Would we have to drill another well and so on? <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I asked Randolph's to come to the house after work on Thursday August 22 to chat. He did and answered all of our questions including a temporary option to just get water into the house. We decided to just get it hooked up. He told us on Friday he would call the gas company to mark the gas lines as the well is near or gas meter. He told us to call him as soon as we saw that done. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Monday afternoon the gas company marked the gas lines and I called that evening. He told me he had already told his backhoe guy he would have a job that week, he would call him to see when he could be there and then call us. Wednesday morning, August 21, at 7 a.m. he called to let me know he could be there at 8 a.m. to start the project if that was ok. I said yes and he was there at 20 minutes to 8. All the crew were friendly and polite and they tried to accommodate us in every way. By 2 p.m. we had good water in our house. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />These guys were friendly, helpful, professional, and right on it from the get go. I would highly recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"Waterboy Waterworks completely removed our old boiler (it was about 50 year old!) and water heater, and replaced all with new equipment. They did a wonderful installation, removed all the old stuff, went up and down our basement stair a hundred times it seems! Then they installed the new units with all new connections. They worked hard and left the area very clean. They were also very nice (and understanding) to my handicapped brother (and his questions). They are wonderful to work with, showed up on time, explained the new unit and what was available, and did a fantastic job. We would definitely use them again. In fact, we would use no one else. Great customer service and great people!"

"The report was very professional and detailed. The response was fast. The price was expensive but due to the detail, understandable. I wouldn't hire again due to multiple requests for a completed report and estimate for the mold remediation and just getting robotic replies that didn't answer my questions."

". <strong> The job they did was indeed professional, the cost was fairer than the other estimates I received. . it only took them two work days to make and install the steps and a small landing. They were punctual and cleaned up after their work. The steps were great my tenant loved them. I plan on using them in the near future for another repair on my rain gutter.</strong> <br />"

"It was 4 PM on a Friday night.  My husband was replacing the wax ring on a basement commode, when suddenly a pipe protruding from the wall broke off in his hands, spraying him and the entire bathroom with a shower of cold, clean (thank goodness) water.  We quickly turned off the main water supply (since the specific turn offs leading to that bathroom wouldn't BUDGE!) and got onto Angie's list.   Called the first "all A-rated" plumber/handyman, and, lucky for us, that turned out to be Darrell.  He had just finished up a long week's work, and although he had never had any dealings with us previously, agreed to rescue us from a waterless week-end. ( Remember it was late Friday, PLUS he lives in Endicott and we are located up in Chenango Bridge.) <br /> He arrived, smiling and friendly, within the hour, expertly sized up and resolved the situation, and was soon finished, much to our relief and gratitude.  As he left, we chatted about our families and got to know one another a bit.  We waved as he drove away, and almost had the urge to ask, "Who was that masked man?", the way the townsfolk always did after being rescued by the Lone Ranger. <br /> His 40-someodd years of experience certainly paid off for us, and we have already asked him to return to help us with other things around the house.  He really knows what he's doing.  We feel so grateful to have found someone who would put himself out to help strangers in need, even ON a Friday night. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Cortland, NY

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
