"The jobs took a few days in total. We had them do 2 phases to our project. They were pretty much on time and did exactly what we wanted. Shannon was very professional and helpful. We will probably be using them to do the rest of our front area in the spring. I would recommend them to anyone.
"

"All of my communication with the provider was via email. I submitted a request for a price quote around the second week of November and the work was performed on November 25th (the day I'm writing this review). The provider was very prompt in responding. I sent them my home address and was sent back a picture of my house and yard to confirm my address. I explained what I wanted done and they provided a price quote.

I had a preference for the type of mulch I preferred and they accommodated my request. I revised my work order to cancel the leaf removal because the HOA removed the leaves. A couple of days afterwards, the leaves were back (at this point, all the leaves had fallen due to strong winds the previous two nights). I requested that leaf removal be added back to the work order (this request was submitted the morning that the work was scheduled to be completed). I was hopeful that the request was not too late and learned that they did indeed receive the updated request in time to remove the leaves.

On the day the work was done, I got home that nigh. I couldn't see all of the yard except for sections here and there illuminated by street light. Even though I couldn't see all of the yard, I could tell that they did a fantastic job. The fall foliage was completely removed and the mulching gave the flowerbeds and trees such a manicured look. The bushes were neatly trimmed, including my hydrangea bush.

The work far exceeded my expectations. I will definitely come back to this company for spring mulching. My check is going in the mail in the morning.
"

"Mr. Ferriss is an artist, a professional, and wonderful to work with. I had a disaster of a backyard, and he designed and installed a beautiful patio with fire pit, an adjacent garden and gazebo, and appropriate and tasteful lighting. He further added definition and landscaping to the yard. His work reflected attention to detail and customer satisfaction. His work is like he is building it for himself. So much pride goes into his work. We were very pleased with his work and have enjoyed it immensely every day since. You will not be disappointed."

"On a Saturday because I knew the area would be unoccupied I went to the Brooke VRE lot to fly my DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter. I had been flying around for about five (5) minutes when the wind began to pick up. As I was flying it back towards me to land a strong downdraft pushed the vehicle into a tree. It was caught up towards the top well over 60 feet. After coordination with CSX and the SherriIff's Department I sought professional help to retrieve the vehicle; the fire department was unable to help. I decided that a 'tree service' would afford the safest and most effective retrieval. I contacted and quot; All Landscaping Servicesand quot; via their main office number. As it was the weekend I was expecting to have to leave a message and they would get back to me during normal business hours. A recorded message indicated I could leave a message or call a cell phone, number provided. I called the cell and was connected with Mr Kearns. He collected some initial information and said he would come meet me to further analyze the situation and discuss options...he was there within 5 minutes. We further discussed the situation, he made visual note of the quadcopter location and other information necessary to determine a plan for extraction. He presented options, and we agreed given time of day, lack of available light, and the cold weather to wait until the next morning for the retrieval. He set a specific time to meet after establishing my understanding and agreement with the plan. The next morning he called me before the scheduled meet time, updated me on needed equipment and his climber's preparedness. He confirmed the meet time and said he would call me when he was en-route. A short time later, he called and we met back at the VRE lot. Mr. Kearns once again explained the plan and the climber put on his climbing and safety gear and began the ascent. As it was going to take a number of minutes and the temperature was below freezing, Mr. Kearns started his truck back up, cranked up the heat and invited me in to keep warm. We talked about further details and the plan on how to safely retrieve the drone once the climber got within reach. Within a reasonably short time considering safety factors for the climber and a shared concern to protect the drone from damage the retrieval was complete, drone was safe, no damage.
Mr. Kearns and his staff where professional, highly competent, and showed true concern for my situation. In all, job we'll done!
I'll be sure to give him a call when I have more traditional tree and landscaping services, and fortunately now I know who to call if I ever need another drone retrieval.
"

"overall everything went better than expected, worth every penny. I couldn't be happy with the services that Mr Scarbrough and crew performed highly professional and knowledgeable. Even gave me pointers on how to maintain yard. The absolute best in the business hands down. Crew arrived on time, put in a full days work, on a hot and sunny day I have no complaints. "

"J Warden and Sons has over 40 yrs experience and equipment to do anything. I called them based on a referral and Gene called me back that afternoon. That same evening he came over to to a site inspection and talk about what my concerns were for the project (which I had) I had just finished building a small garage in my back yard and we had to attached the new driveway to the apron, Level off several areas including one in particular. Then install 2 small retaining walls next to the home for a nice 'Finished look'
I have never written a review before. Usually you get what you pay for and move on. I had a particular vision in mind when I explained the project to Gene Warden and he exceeded my expectations. (hence my first written review) Gene is a third generation paver, representing the company well. Gene's demeanor, willingness to cooperation was such a breath of fresh air. His workers were punctual, professional, demonstrating the attention to detail I requested even though it was a much smaller job than they were accustom too. They also do concrete, seal coating and Hardscapes (which they a particularity so good at it is taking his business to another level. I witnessed this.
I will refer business to Gene at J Warden and Sons in the future. Dependable, Honest with great workers that care and have integrity you can see. Yes, he might be old school but where I come from a handshake goes a long way.

"

"The strengths of Green Acres included high quality work on patio areas and walls. They do extensive preparation that so far appears to provide a solid foundation for the patio and walls. The ponds they installed are quite lovely and overall we are pleased with the quality of the installation itself. Bill Garren provided good input on design. The crew generally worked very hard. In particular one member of the crew took the initiative to build a retaining wall out of rocks available at the worksite that solved a runoff problem exacerbated by the Green Acres’ installed masonry walls, but not accommodated by their design.
The major issue we had involved the pervasive lack of supervision of the crew which led to mistakes, including the installation of a gutter within the parking area rather than at the bottom edge of the parking area—as we had repeatedly told Bill Garren. While Bill offered to remove and reinstall the gutter, we would have had a large repair in the parking area susceptible to
generation of potholes in winter, so we opted to leave it where it is. The hardscaping plan included construction of a bench using a marble slab on site. A Green Acres employee crushed the marble slab by toppling a pallet of blocks on it. The marble slab
could have been easily moved prior to placing the pallet adjacent to it or the pallet could have been placed elsewhere. We were offered no recompense for destruction of the slab or failure to construct the bench. They also ruptured the water line to the house and cut the underground phone line; both were repaired fairly quickly. Overall the work could have been done much more efficiently if adequately supervised, which would have shortened the time spent on the job and produced fewer mistakes. Several final details were not completed, in particular, the placement of additional decorative stones, which are plentifully and easily available near the construction site. Application of mortar on the front steps was totally inadequate, with dozens of gaps and holes left. While these gaps and holes were readily observable, the installer (Garren’s project supervisor) refused to
comply with the our request to look over all the mortar joints and apply additional mortar where needed. Instead,
he initially demanded that the homeowner point out each of dozens of defects. And finally, the crew laid a bed of
gravel alongside the project area to facilitate the movement of their equipment across the bare clay. We now have
an unsightly layer of gravel, in which we suspect nothing but weed grass will grow, alongside the new walkway. No attempt was made to mitigate or correct this gravel bed. A heavy truck delivering material crushed a brick pillar at top of our driveway because the driver turned in the wrong direction. We accepted Green Acres offer to rebuild the pillar and asked that they move it a couple of feet farther from the driveway. Although relocating the pillar would have resulted in substantially no additional work, Bill Garren refused unless we paid him to relocate it. We rather thought our forbearance regarding the marble slab and the incorrectly placed gutter warranted some consideration on his part.
In addition, we would have appreciated candor on the part of Bill in realistically estimating the start of the project and the completion. He said he was delayed several weeks by rain. Undoubtedly the unusually heavy rain delayed him this summer. This does not explain or excuse his empty promises of a full work crew for the entire project, including when he would have people on site to correct discrepancies such as the mortar joints mentioned above and an incompetently installed electric cable for the pond pump that caused the pump to stop working. We did not have the full crew for the vast majority of the work, as the
supervisor was offsite doing other jobs or attending to personal matters.
Overall I think they are overpriced and I would probably not do business with them again.

"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Courtland, VA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
