"Excellent! Cleaning and Service was, once again, best in class! They have become our first choice for cleaning our carpets. Have been using G & G for more than 6 years to do our annual rug cleaning in our family room and in bedroom and landing area. Both are high traffic areas. We could not be happier with the people or service. We Highly recommend G & G to anyone. The people at G & G"

"Was able to drop off and pick up the rug at convenient hours. They gave me good advise on what issues there could be, and laid out the options pretty clearly. Took about 10-12 days for work to be completed."

"S & G removed our old carpets and installed new carpets in 3 bedrooms.  Mike came out and gave us our estimate and showed me the layout of the carpets including where the seam would be located (by the headboard).  After installation, the seam in the master bedroom was right at the entrance.  We also noticed large scratches on the bed, the desk, and the door jamb to our bathroom.  I contacted them and they kindly reinstalled the carpet in the master bedroom with the seam at the headboard as originally planned and removed the furniture moving fee.  We are still left with a huge scratch on our bed and damage to the door jamb and desk.  I suggest moving your own furniture if possible.  The carpet itself looks great. <br />"

"Long story short, we just did a remodel on our house which included brand new carpet in the bedrooms.  A carpenter then proceeded to put Thompsons Water Seal on a new barn door hanging over the new carpet... Ugh! So, Thompsons Water Seal + new creme colored carpet = huge weird stain. BUT, thank goodness for Mr. Peabody's, who came right over and got it out with a minimum of muss and fuss. Would definitely use them again! <br />"

"Vick at Carpeteria was very helpful in explaining detailed information about different types of hardwood and which application would work best in our home. The schedulers were responsive. The installers did a great job on each type of flooring. <br />"

"I had a great experience here at S and G Carpet in Pleasanton! My sales associate was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. She was very patient through my selection process, and even when I changed my mind after I was certain we nailed it the first time! The installers they sent out, Jason and James, were wonderful! On time, very polite, careful not to knick freshly painted walls and they obviously worked well together. They put in carpet as well as vinyl tiles in my office and in front of my back slider door. They did a great job. Zero complaints. I would use S and G again for sure and would ask for the installers specifically! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Coyote, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
