"First of all, this review was not requested by the company.  Although the installation of our windows and doors was done in fall of 2012 we waited to post the review to see how the windows were during winter / rain season.
We got quotes from 5 different companies in the SF Bay Area and we decided to go with Five Star Windows for new construction installation of 9 windows and 3 doors in an existing stucco house. Five Star Windows offer was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. As the company sells several brands of windows Jeffrey Pickard, the owner, did not push a particular brand. Jeffrey was most thorough in his explanation of the different types of windows available and which would fit our requirements.
We decided to buy Milgard Tuscany windows (lifetime warranty).
After all our research, I believe the best window is one that not only meets your budget and energy needs but a professional and proper installation. Five Star Windows Company comes with window installers certified by AAMA (American Architectural Manufactures Association) meaning its installation specialists are trained on windows installation techniques based on industry standards for both new construction and replacement projects.
The installation team, Ismail and Isidro, led by Jose Luis Pulido arrived to install the windows and was also very professional. They set up all of their equipment each morning, cleaned up and vacuum each afternoon. They laid down cloths for walking through to work from inside. Jose clearly explained every step in the process of installation. Ismail did a great job of matching the old stucco.
Jeffrey estimated that ours windows and doors would be installed (including re-stucco and wood trim replacement) in one week, it took them 4 days to install all windows and doors.
We are very happy with our windows and doors and we will continue to refer Five Star Windows Company to anyone that we know that needs new windows and doors.

"It went great! My door couldn’t move at all and now it’s sliding better than it ever has! I most definitely recommend there services !"

"We had a great experience with Cal Window Door Guy! He was professional, reliable, and did an excellent job with our door installation. He took the time to make sure everything fit properly, worked smoothly, and looked great when finished. He was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and left the work area clean. We’re very happy with the quality of the work and would definitely recommend him to anyone needing door installation or repair!"

"It was good. They came on time. They communicated well. There were two men. One of them spoke English quite well which was good. They asked me questions about the job. I was pleased. The owner of the company called to schedule. That was a little weird. When I bought it Angie's List asked for three potential dates that I would be okay with having it done. She said that wasn't communicated to her, so we made an appointment when I talked to her at that time. There were no additional charges. I would have been upset if there were. There were two workers who came out. They were right on time. I think they were a little early. They didn't come to the door early, but I saw them parked out there early. One man didn't speak English, but the other man spoke English. I think when they know what I want and what I need we can communicate better."

"The SGK office staff were very polite and helpful and the gentleman that came out to do the estimate was also very polite and very knowledgeable. He knew a lot of information about the windows that I didn't even know. He spent a lot of time going over different types of windows and how the different ratings could benefit our home and be better for our home in the long run. I did collect a few quotes and in the end SGK was not the cheapest but the quality of their product I feel is well worth the cost. I also don't mind paying a little more since they took more time to answer questions and go over their product in a way that the other companies didn't. Overall I enjoyed meeting with SGK and would consider having them out again for any future projects."

"I LOVE THEM!
This company is the most professional company on earth!  They have the highest score on some websites and they invest so much time taking care of their customers! We had the most amazing project manager and he did full bathroom remodel for us and repaired our roof (FOR FREE!!).. they went out of their way to handle our project! God bless them!"

"He finished it very quickly and effectively. He is reliable, professional and very easy to work with.
He also completed two other jobs for me. One was the installation of a house cooling fan. That project was very satisfactory. He ordered and installed the fan quickly, and minimised the cost of the project."

"Perfect, great job, completed set up in 1 day with 2 guys. Was very accommodating and respectful. Left the area clean. Having him come back to install a kitchen faucet."
