"We had a flood in our basement and following an interior drain installation, we needed to have new padding laid down and our carpet re-stretched into place. This was not a big job which can make it hard to find somebody to do it, but Bob came to give me an estimate not long after I called him. They were here within a week to do the work and did a great job. They had to work really hard to stretch the carpet because it had shrunk after being wet, but they were able to make it work. And then they came back shortly afterwards to do the final cleaning. I really appreciated that they were willing to do this small job and get it done so quickly. I highly recommend calling Riverview for any similar issues."

"Young Brothers Flooring did an amazing job on installation of our new carpet. We replaced carpet in the master bedroom, stairways, hallway, family room and finished basement. The installers were very professional and did a great job. They were courteous and thoughtful. The carpet looks wonderful and we are very happy with the results. The price was fair and they worked with our schedule to time the installation. Thank you Young Brothers!"

"I called Tommy and his crew as I?m a former Pittsburgh guy and heard he does great work. I had three contractors that wanted crazy amounts of money that were local and opted for a more experienced person with 30 years to install my flooring in 1779 sq ft home. Since I live 10 hours away we coordinated a time in his not so busy season and he came down with his crew and knocked out my entire house in 4 days. This included removing 4 rooms of carpeting and tack strip along with laminate flooring that was just three years old. Tommy recommended a premium under layment that was mold and moisture resistant along with waterproof and insulating since my home was on a slab. He removed all flooring and carpeting and hailed away to the dump. My wife and I are 100 % happy and would highly recommend that anyone in the Pittsburgh area to contact him for your flooring or carpeting needs after seeing first hand his work and craftsmanship. Hire Tommy Deigan and his crew and you?ll be happy!"

"After having some major hiccups with another carpet company my wife and I decided to cancel to look into Molyneaux for our carpeting needs. We went to the store in Robinson, met Lisa Clouse, and started looking at samples and discussing our needs. We set up an appointment for Lisa to come to our house a few days later to measure and look at samples. She arrived as scheduled and measured our house and talked us through picking the right carpet and color for our home and situation (we have a dog that sheds a lot!). Lisa was in our home for almost 3 hours trying to help us decide on a color and carpet type. She never made us feel rushed and never ever tried to up sell us or use any high pressure sales tactics to get us to buy. She was friendly and offered professional view points and opinions when needed. I feel we were lucky to have Lisa as our design consultant. We agreed to a carpet and color and from there scheduled an appointment for installation. The appointment was for two days due to the size of the job, which was this past Thursday. That morning, I was called at 7:45am letting me know the installers were about 30 minutes away. Two men, Rob and Shawn arrived at 8:15am, quickly confirmed the measurements Lisa took and began working. They were extremely personable and I had no negative feeling about the installers what so ever. They even took the time to explain certain things about installing carpet that I had asked. Overall they were wonderful. They finished installing 1,500 square feet of carpet by 4:30pm that afternoon and saved me from taking a second day off work which I was very thankful for. The carpet looks great! The overall experience with Molyneaux could not have gone any better in my opinion. We will definitely use them again in the future for any other flooring projects we need!"

"The process it self went very well. Marcus was great, he worked hard and overall did a wonderful job. However, Macus left the window open and morning dew came in and caused problems with the final finish. He also left a large mark at the top of the stairs where he let his mop sit with chemicals on it. We called Stan, the owner, who sent Macus back out. He did a great job in the dining room, but could not repair the hall without refinishing upstairs. Stan refused to resolve the issue and fix the hall. He said we were being unreasonable expecting him to finish their mistake and if we wanted to pay an additional $2,000 they would fix their mistake.
Marcus is a hard working, Stan is disrespectful and not very honest with customers. When they make mistakes, they will not fix them, even the first mistake he made us pay for the supplies to repair the damage. Would not recommend using this company.

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Cranberry Township, PA

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
