He was very detailed on what he did and took pictures of what he did. He must of asked me 10 times if I had any questions or concerns ( as he was going through all the stuff that he did) about anything, which showed he really cared about me (the consumer) and his line of work that he does. "English Lane is fantastic. No-nonsense... gets done what they say they will, on time, at or under the price they quote, and the results are beautiful. I'm willing to pay for that. I had another contractor quote half, charge me in the end double (and what EL had quoted originally), and get it done months later then they claimed. The other contractor also had that they would replace trees that died within one year of planting in the contract, and then later told me "they'd rather not" and I had to chase after them for months. I switched to English Lane thereafter for maintenance and updates, and then did our backyard with English Lane. English Lane replaces trees that look like they won't make it without even asking, and made a set of flowers free that came later than expected. I can't express enough the awful experience with the other contractor, and how much I appreciated and became willing to pay for "no b*******" and "telling it as it is." Not only will I never go back to that other contractor, I will only going forward use English Lane."

"Original date to start job was 11/13/24. 11/20/24 I texted and asked what happened. He said he would start the job on Monday, 12/2/24. 12/9/24 got an email that he would be coming the next day, 12/10/24. Then, he received an email that it was too cold to install rails, and he would come on 12/24/24. Rails were installed, and Dominic stressed he needed to receive the balance of the invoice. I asked him when he would remove the boulder. He had to get back to me. 2/21/25 Dominic said he would come the first week in March 2025 to remove the boulder. I contacted Dominic again via text on 4/1/25, got a message on 4/2/25 that Dominic would come next week to remove the boulder. Got a message 4/10/25 that Dominic would come the following week to remove. At some point after this, when it was not done, I spoke with Dominic, and he proceeded to talk over me and said he was not going to remove the boulder."

"The first salesman says one thing, the second salesman says another, the foreman says another, and the managers yet another.. They wouldn’t let me talk to the sales guy after we signed—RED FLAG. Really, for $25,000 dollars, I expected more than the runaround, the half-done job that sat for a week, the ignored requests, the foremen that kept changing/getting fired (?), and the stolen $50 extension cord THAT WAS MY ONLY POWER to their fan system.. you would think they would want to protect their work a bit better since we have the extended warranty. They were almost half the price of the other company we were looking at, and now, I’m pretty sure I know why. Probably not the best bang for the buck. But then again, they don’t have to live in my sinking house, so maybe it’s not that big a deal for them. I was less than impressed. They left clay and gravel all over my basement floor and some dirt all over my upstairs floor. We bought them pizza, made them coffee, and they were friendly enough when we talked with them, but we knew that they were scrambling to get jobs done. The salesman said they would provide an electrician if we needed one, but then they never delivered on that.. everyone is booked lately on electrical work, so I have a sump and fan system that currently has no power. I question the integrity and quality of this company. And I still have to get someone to fix my exterior wall because they don’t do that—not their bag, I get that, but it’s annoying. I just wish the job that was done was half as reassuring as the sales presentation."

"Collins Paving did a new asphalt driveway June 2022 for $15,000. The install it was a major headache. Jerry complained entire time- about me, my driveway, the job, even his crew's work ethic. That fall of 2022 the driveway developed ponding in three large areas. I left emails, phone messages and never got a response. On May 5, 2023, I contacted them to seal the driveway (per their instructions at install). They responded right away. When they came out to seal, July 16, 2023, I explained the problem and was told to 'call the office'. I called weekly for 2 months. Finally, on September 9 Jerry and Steve came over and were quite confrontational with me. It was very uncomfortable, but I bit my tongue because I wanted it addressed. In the end, they both acknowledged the issues and recommended I have them address it in the spring and give 'one more winter'. I started calling & emailing in late March 2024. I finally got an appt in August. I waited all day until 4pm, made several calls the 'office' (no one answered). When I called the following week to inquire about my appt., Shauna said that Jerry and Steve came over and no one was home. Not true. Since then, I've called again and again and it's the same response from Shauna. "I'll let them know'. When i ask when I can expect a follow up, I'm told, 'I'm not sure, they are on other jobs'. I've kept track of how many times I've called and its over 30 times. They have no interest in talking to me. Shauna answers the phone and takes another message. At this point, less that 3 years after install, my driveway is sinking, cracks are forming, and I am forced to get resolution through 3rd parties. All I wanted was help figuring this out and I was hoping we could work this out together but I’m being ignored. I would avoid Collins Paving. There is so much more I could share."
