"They did a nice job on the fence modifications and gate replacement. The guys who came to install were nice enough but didn't hardly speak any English making it very difficult to communicate. When I spoke with the sales guy, I asked about adding drop rods and he couldn't find where to add them to the work order. I also asked about handles and we discussed having 4 handles, one on each side of the two gates. They forgot to install the handles and when they came back they only brought 2. The drop rods they tried to charge an extra $100 dollars for when they were already coming out to put on the handles they forgot. Drop rods are $20 for a set of 2. Literally takes 5 mins to install. Anyway, most of the experience was pretty good. But the details of the gate handles and drop rods to cap the project that was $2k was a bit cheap. "

Customers say: Quality work

"I dealt with Dave?s Fence for my backyard fence, and unfortunately, it was a very frustrating experience. I provided my credit card details for the agreed cost of the fence. While reviewing my bank statements, I discovered that I had been overcharged by $2,347, nearly 50% more than the agreed price, through multiple charges made in September, November, and December. Since December 22, I have contacted the company multiple times requesting a refund of the overcharged amount. Each time, I received the same responses: this week, after the holidays, tomorrow, Monday, and now another five business days. Despite repeated promises, the refund has still not been processed. What is most concerning is how efficient the company was at collecting payment, yet how slow and unresponsive they have been in correcting a clear billing error. If I had not carefully reviewed my bank statements, this overcharge likely would never have been identified or addressed. This experience reflects poor billing "

"Unfortunately, I have to spend my free time spreading the word about this shotty contractor. Please share and tell everyone to NOT HIRE THESE GUYS! I hired C&S fence and gate in Pierson,Fl. to install vinyl fencing last May. I paid for concrete on every post due to our climate conditions. It downpoured rained stormed while they set my posts. They didn’t mix the concrete and I don’t have concrete all the way around the posts. They just poured the bag in the post hole to slammed it out before the concrete hardened. They didn’t mix the concrete and it just crumbles. I have no concrete in the bad sections. Below is a youtube video link of their work. I apologize in the video, I said (C&W) not C&S. It’s C&S fence and gate. I have contacted the owner and he thinks this was done correctly. If you want to help me, please leave a review on google showing their integrity. This is a workmanship problem not storm damage. I also have posts sagging, flimsy gates and they don’t return their calls. Also their employees started to install it incorrectly per plan and I had to babysit that process too. They do not stand behind their work. I should see concrete all around my posts…..end of story. I’m also looking for a good lawyer to go after these guys. [*** Link removed ***]"

FAQs for chain link fence repair or alter projects in Crescent City, FL

Installing a concrete reinforcement slab significantly boosts the stability and longevity of your chain link fence. This reinforcement creates a strong foundation that protects the fence from erosion, burrowing animals, and high winds. The installation cost is $4 to $10 per square foot, and this robust base minimizes the need for future repairs while extending the overall lifespan of your fence.

Repairing minor damage such as small holes is far more cost‑effective than replacing significant portions of your chain link fence. Minor repairs cost between $100 and $200, while replacing full sections demands an investment of $1,000 to $2,000. For a fence that is 20 years old or older, having an expert assess it now can prevent repeated repair expenses and secure long‑term durability, thereby safeguarding overall fence performance.

If you'd rather remove your chain link fence than repair or replace it, professionals charge between $3 and $5 per linear foot for the job. There may be additional costs involved if there is extra labor needed, like relocating plants or separating the chain-link fence from other existing structures. This also does not include waste disposal fees.

Chain link fences have an average lifespan of 20 years with regular cleaning and maintenance. They stand out as one of the most affordable and durable fencing options available to homeowners and businesses alike. Chain link fences often last five to 10 years longer than comparable wooden fence installations. Chain-link fences made with a vinyl coating often exceed these estimates, providing even greater longevity and weather resistance.
