"Everything was great until the install.  at the time, my father was dying of cancer.  We had set up the install on a certain day, and had planned on getting the furniture out of the rooms, but they called a day or so early and said they could come that morning, something had cancelled. I was like, great!  So a small crew came over (2 guys), and the supervisor did not.  They had the carpet with them, and had started getting it ready. Supervisor  finally came after I called Wood's.  He told the other guys to help us empty the rooms, and he would be back.  Then we found out that he was going back and forth to another job.  I called Woods again and was very upset, because they had said this would take about 3 hours and I needed to go see my dad.  The owner told me to go ahead and leave, she would take care of it. It eventually got done, but was a stressful day for me.  I have not had that problem anywhere else. <br />"

"They ended up exchanging everything out for us, but it was just more of a hassle than anything. The installers also didn't speak English so it was hard to communicate with them."

"It went perfectly from the moment I called the 1-800-for-coit number and spoke to a very knowledgable young woman who set me up with a free estimate till when the mgr. came out the next day to talk with us. He was very professional and extremely knowledgable and diagnosed the problem quickly and talked in length about the benefits of good clean air quality. After we agreed to be what I thought was a very fair price for what he estimated to be done, I scheduled a time to do it and on the day of the service, 3 nice uniformed techs, and 2 black logoed trucks arrived on time at my house. The men were very professional an efficient and careful with my contents. All seemed very experienced and said they had been with coit for over 10 years or more. I was very pleased with every part of the whole job they did and as a result both me, my husband and kids have not been to the allergy clinic since and most of us have quit taking our allergy medicines. Thank you all @ Coit!!! <br />"

"I have employed the services of this company off and on since September, 2012, at both my house and my sister's house on the other side of town. They have performed excellently for me at a reasonable price, so that is why I have continued to use them. The owner and work supervisor (Shawn Johnson) is a and quot;hands-onand quot; manager who works along side his employees when available. When he needed to be at other job sites, his employees have carried out their assigned work in a professional and conscious manner. Both Shawn and his employees have always been very respectful and courteous to me. I will continue to use Best Construction as needed and recommend them to others. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Crossville, TN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
