"Crew were really nice and accommodating. They were punctual as well which is a rarity in this line of work. Johnny was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had and he made sure everything was done to our liking."

"It helped save my life. I recently lost my Husband and his income. My air conditioner went out. My Windows are painted shut. So I thought about adding screens to the burglar iron doors. My Husband was the epitome of a Handyman. With him suddenly and unexpectedly dead and his income too, I felt helpless but not hopeless. I put a request in on Angie’s list. Got four calls. One couldn’t help. One I couldn’t afford. One kept promising to come but did not. But “Handyman” Bidwell Company made and kept an appointment with me, accessed the job, went and priced the cost, provided a reasonable cost that I could afford, accepted the job, made the frame and screens. Today I opened both the front porch and side Carport doors and let God’s breeze of fresh air circulate my lungs and my home, I feel pleased and wonderfully blessed to be able to breathe in my home especially since I suffer from acute asthma. I appreciate their quick turn around, their courteous customer service and professionalisms. Sending a special Thank you to the Bidwell Company and a special “Thank You” to Sawyer Bidwell. Thank You Cynthia Kellum"

"We first met with Clayton at the Premier Surfaces showroom (we were recommended to this company by a friend who had used them previously for a kitchen countertop/granite job), and she was punctual, well put-together, and very bubbly. She knew her countertops, answering all of our questions in detail and interjecting her design recommendations as well, based on her experience. We especially appreciated that part! She patiently walked us through different options, discussing color and 'texture', and then took us around the showroom. We looked at different granite slabs, carrying around a kitchen drawer (so we could see the cabinet color against the granite slabs), and Clayton was very very patient with us as we went back and forth before finally choosing a gorgeous slab of dark granite with blue undertones.
Clayton was amazing about communicating with us every step of the way, and working with us to stage the demolition and installation on different days (we were also trying to redo the rest of the kitchen at the same time, and had to work with different companies to get the appliances all installed around the granite installation). I could not rave enough about how amazing Clayton was given our scheduling difficulties!!
The end result is a VERY gorgeous kitchen that we love! The granite is gorgeous, the edges of the slabs meet up well, and the aesthetic result is stunning. We are glad we found this company via our friend's recommendation, and we would definitely recommend them to others!"

"I thought that it was a really hard sell. When they came in I had no interest in finding about countertops. I was just interested in painting the cabinets. After doing the refacing I felt that I could have just painted. But their work was nice. I was very happy with the quality of their work. But I feel that they could have just painted the cabinets and not got new countertops as it would have been a lot cheaper. I was happy with the contractor that they sent out. They worked very hard to make sure that I gave them a good rating. Everyone they sent out was very good."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Cullman, AL

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
