"Gnome was great from the very first day I spoke with them. I initially contacted them to redesign the front garden of my house that I had just moved in. They initially came in around the fall and raked old bushes, a small tree that was growing to close to the house and all ornamental grasses that were overgrown and in the middle of entrances. <br /> Then in the spring I met with Anne who is the garden designer to go over patterns, colors and how I would envision the project. We then met a second time to go over the final sketch and estimate. After that Chace the landscape manger called me to set up a data to start the project. they were late 3 days, but it really did not affect the work. <br /> They are friendly, professional, responsive and focused on details. I decided to change the lighting last minute and they came again on a later date to change it. <br /> Final work was beautiful and now I enjoy every single day my new garden and landscape. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"They were prompt and had the system in exactly when they said they would. Scott is a very 'hands on' owner and made sure that we were completely satisfied. We had some minor initial startup issues but Watermatic responded promptly and had them fixed beyound even our expectations. We chose Watermatic because many of our neighbors have their system and were very pleased with the service over a number of years."

"One day water started leaking from my ceiling under my up stairs bathroom of my 100+ year old house. I called Maine House Surgeons they promptly came over and went to work on a solution. They found when the original plumbing was put in, some of the floor joist had been cut for the pipes and one of the joist finally broke. Allowing the floor sink an inch or two. We went and picked out new linoleum and materials. By end of the day they had the bathroom put back together and working. They even got the bounce and squeaks out of the floor. All in one day and for around six hundred bucks! <br /> <br />"

"I have a new construction house that was left without any accommodation for rain water coming from the roof, causing significant erosion issues. Chris and his team installed an attractive and clean stone drip edge around the entire perimeter. Five Star lived up to its name with a great attention to detail and no skimping on the materials, all at a very fair price. Would highly recommend. Well done!!"

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Cumberland-center, ME

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
