"I had another company come out and verify that I needed to have work done on my roof and had confirmed I'd need to replace the roof. After reaching out to a number of companies only Certified was able to provide me the comfort of excellent communication (many didn't have the courtesy to reply to my inquiries) and references to sign on the dotted line. They were one of the few companies that had expertise with flat roofs as well as shingle and were able to work around my roof mounted HVAC unit by moving it as needed. They installed a white Mule Hide TPO roof on my main roof as well as on my addition and replaced the roofs for my front porch (which has started to leak and wasn't draining into the gutter) as well as my steep mansard roof. One company I dealt with in the initial phase was unwilling to answer questions I had with regard to the CRRC ratings of the TPO but Certified was always upfront with me and provided me with continuous updates as the work progressed, all via email and by phone. I'd originally expected to have shingles on the former BUR roof on my addition, but the crew determined that a flat roof was more appropriate and replaced it with TPO, with an explanation for their change and at no additional cost. The warranties provided as well as the licensure and insurance were a critical factor to my selection (too many companies seem to be operating in a legal gray area) and I don't expect to have any problems with the work completed, but if I do I know they stand behind their work."

They were pretty quick to get back to me when I inquired about an estimate and they were quick to set up a date to come out and give me a quote. Their pricing was about on par with other quotes I had received and they were able to set up a date for the replacement a week after I received the estimate. The day of the job, they were out there early and were done just after noon. They did a fairly decent job cleaning up, although they did miss a couple of nails and shingles. Michael Anthony arrived at my house to talk to me about replacing my old worn out roof. Our discussion detailed HCR ‘s roof replacement system - an education for me since all I thought was the old shingles were taken off the roof and new ones stapled on. Let me tell you roof replacement with HCR is not like that at all. Michael explained each step of the system to me. First, the old shingles are scraped off the roof. Then a 2mm barrier shield Is layed over the plywood sub roof to keep out moisture, and then the shingles are nailed on - three nails per shingle. This, he told me, would anchor the shingles so that in case of high winds they would not blow off. Did I tell you about the warranty? My new roof will not give me any worries for at least 25 years and it is transferable to a new owner of my townhouse should I ever decide to sell it. Oh yeah, if a shingle does blow off, they will come and repair it. Peace of mind! The HCR crew was very professional. They started scraping the old shingles off just as soon as they arrived at my job site. After all the old worn out shingles were off the roof, the fun began. It was amazing to me to watch a crew member swiftly carry each package of shingles up a very tall ladder to the roof. By the time all the packages were on top of the roof, the barrier shield was laid out. Then each single shingle was laid down and nailed. After all shingles were in place, the crew cleaned up the debris in my yard and in my neighbors’ yards. My new roof looks amazing! Michael contacted me on the day of the install to check on the progress. All went well! I now have a very beautiful roof that I don't have to worry about replacing for at least 25 years. "Crew was responsive, although most did not speak English. Foreman and supervisor were responsive and professional. Major problems occurred with installation. First, rough treatment during shingle removal caused a large piece of roofing plywood to break free and crash through ceiling drywall, narrowly missing gallery artwork. A drywall specialist did respond quickly, but spoke little English. That job was not finished properly because of lack of proper finishing tools. Because of slow response to finish the drywall, the owner decided to finish it himself. Second, a major leak occurred during a rainstorm. It was determined that no flashing was installed at a juncture between two sections of the roof. That problem was resolved by a separate crew. This situation was inexcusable for a roofing company that professes to be superb, and should not have occurred. Fortunately, Power Remodeling responded quickly to resolve the problems. So far, the new roofing looks fine with complements from neighbors."
