"The company was ready to go to work, the day after my initial telephone call. The tech telephoned me b4 traveling to the job site to prequalify work to be done. The tech picked up the appliances. Their mfr of choice for water heaters is RHEEM. We requested a Moen kitchen faucet. The water heater was installed in two hours. The kitchen sink faucet in forty-five minutes. The tech and one helper performed the work. The tech was prepared for a worst case scenario as pertains to resolving a leaking outdoor water faucet with a faucet handle performing a 360 degree movement when turning the water on and off. A washer specifically for the faucet handle had disintegrated. The TECH had a "match" for a replacement washer. Tension was restored to faucet handle movement and the leak was stopped. I did not "shop around" for the "best buy" as pertains to performing these services. I picked Ace Plumbing solely because they were remotely checked to be a certified plumber per Angie's List standards. For your reference, and I could be wrong; I estimate Ace Plumbing received "contractor pricing" for the appliances. If I had purchased the aforementioned water heater I believe I would have paid $935.00. Per local code, I had to have a thermal expansion device installed on the water heater. I believe that would have cost me $50.00. The kitchen sink faucet - - $80+. Labor/profit for the contractor I estimate would range from 30-45% of the total bill. I received a consolidated billing/vice price per action on my paper bill. I paid for the services after work was performed with a personal check. I am satisfied with the work performed by this Ace Plumbing team. The team knew their job and were experienced. As with all contractors, if you are ready for the work to be done, they will come."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"Although I had a burst hot water heater leaking across my basement, they were unable to come out for the first assessment for two full days.  When the plumber did arrive, he was polite and professional, and did diagnose the need for a new water heater (as evidenced by the large amount of water throughout my basement).   He spoke to American Home Shield (AHS), who put up a fight, as my home warranty was in place for just a short-time (we had just recently bought the house).  AHS finally agreed to the covered replacement (water heater/installation/$250 of "code upgrades").  The bomb dropped when he quoted what my portion of the job cost would be after AHS paid their portion...$900...for the remainder of the needed "code upgrades".  After having recently replaced a similar unit in my last home, I knew this was high when factoring in AHS's portion, and approximately the cost of the replacement unit plus standard installation .  I suspect they were building in plenty of profit, as I suspect AHS does not pay normal market rates for the water heater replacement.  I asked them to try to be more competitive, but they were not willing to budge on their price.  <br /> Consequently, I called in another plumbing provider (not affiliated with AHS), and got a much more competitive cost (saving well over $300)  I settled with AHS for a payout, and did not use High-Priority for the replacement unit or plumbing services <br /> <br />"

"Brian was very professional and friendly. I was quoted a price of $350. I had applied for the $25 coupon via Angie's list for scheduling a service call, but did not use it since Brian said it did not take him very long to locate my water leak area and he only charged me $300. <br /> I hope to never have to use American Leak Detection Company again because that would mean I had another water leak. One water leak in the main water line is enough for a life time. I will however highly recommend American Leak Detection to everyone I may came across that is in need of their help. <br />"

"Called two other plumbers.  The one I wanted to do the job, didn't call back after our initial conversation  After i called him back he said he would not be able to get to job as promised.  He recommended I call Robinson Plumbing. <br /> After speaking to the owner on the phone and giving him the address, he was there in 2 hours and fixed problem without ever meeting me face-to-face. <br /> The ONLY negative is they don't take credit cards (that could easily change).   They emailed me a bill which I had to mail back with check.  <br /> Very nice guy and I will happily use him again. <br /> <br />"

"Too keep it brief, Rick rocks. He replaced my A/C 8 years ago and did a great, fairly priced job. Has done my periodic maintenance ever since and a couple weeks ago when the old furnace gave up the ghost, I called Rick and he diagnosed the demise and had another furnace ready for install the next day. Highly recommend this guy... <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Cusseta, GA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
