"I initially hired OP Pool Leak Detection and Repairs in January to find leaks in our pool. All things started off great, Onarbin was very responsive, showed up as he said he would and seemed professional. He found leaks quickly, which is where I wished I would have stopped. Unfortunately, I hired him to replace my leaking pool skimmer. The installation was extremely poor. When we expressed our concerns, Onarbin was quick to give excuses but told us he would return to make repairs. He never did. I now have to hire a new company to repair the work done by O.P. Pool. The photos and video show the issues. Problems with the skimmer installation include: 1. Skimmer was installed too high, it is now sitting above my patio pavers causing a tripping hazard. 2. Skimmer opening at the deck is too small for the skimmer basket to be lifted out. To fix this, Onarbin cut up the skimmer basket so that it could fit through the hole that is too small. 3. One pool pipe under skimmer basket is now filled with loose gravel from the installation. 4. Grout around the skimmer is crumbling. And the top of the skimmer is falling apart 5. Deck pavers around skimmer are now all loose."

"ALDO IS ALLIGATOR POOLS. what a wonderful experience it was to have our pool completely renovated by this company. Aldo, the manager of the work site was incredible. I have had very bad experiences in Miami with other companies. However, Aldo made this experience an incredibly pleasant one. He was punctual, courteous and very helpful. He answered all of our questions and he made sure that everything was picked up and neatly after each days work was completed . He was there every day to make sure the workers did an excellent job and I can not say enough about him. That is why I say Aldo is Alligator Pools. I recommend this company to anyone who wants a job well done, professionally and efficiently."

FAQs for swimming pool heaters installation and replacement projects in Cutler Bay, FL

Yes, you can add a heater to an existing pool. A pro can retrofit a heater to nearly any in-ground or above-ground pool. Adding a heater allows you to start the swim season earlier, finish it later, and maintain a steady water temperature in between. Many owners schedule the job during a larger pool upgrade, but it also works as a standalone project. Professional installation ties the new unit into the existing pump and plumbing for safe, efficient operation.

Most owners switch the heater on a day or two before they plan to swim, then shut it down afterward. Reaching the target temperature can take 24 to 72 hours, depending on pool size and outdoor conditions. Using a cover while the heater is off helps hold the heat and keeps energy costs in check.

Pool heaters can freeze if left exposed to extreme conditions. Freezing can damage internal heater components, potentially leading to costly pool repairs. Cycling water, covering the heater, and regular maintenance help prevent freezing. Sealing or winterizing your heater also protects it during the season—this involves draining water from the heater and its components.

Pool heaters operate with lifespans spanning from seven to 30 years. Gas and propane models last seven to 12 years, while electric and solar heaters perform efficiently for up to 30 years. Consistent professional maintenance and routine inspections extend the heater’s life and improve its performance, ensuring a safe and reliable heating system for your pool.

Before hiring a pool heater installation contractor, conduct thorough research by reviewing online feedback and gathering recommendations from trusted sources. Contact multiple professionals to discuss pricing, request references, and understand the complete installation process. This careful evaluation ensures you select a qualified contractor who delivers high-quality service and a successful installation.
