"We pulled up the carpet in our sons room and noticed it had nice hardwood underneath, it just needed Lots of love. We asked around for recommendations and the majority were for 1st Class Flooring. We contacted Tony and he gave us all the different stain and finish options. The floors were in bad shape and he took the extra time to make sure they came out amazing. There was no dust in our home from all the sanding and there was no smell with the chemicals used. Tony and Nathan were very professional, on time and made the hole process smooth and with out any doubt. We would highly recommend 1st Class Flooring to anyone out there."

"It had been a year since my carpets were last cleaned, and there were several areas with marks and stains  After the cleaning all the problem areas were taken care of, and the carpets everywhere look very good. <br /> Jon had cleaned the carpets the year before, and I was pleased with the work then, also. <br />"

"I am a property owner managing a floor install from states away - but Brunswick Floors made it all happen seamlessly! I had to have a specific thickness of soundproofing for a second floor unit and Ed Keller did the research to find a product that would fit the bill. He went above and beyond. The install ran into some issues with the subfloor company (the HOA insisted a DIFFERENT company do the subfloor replacement) but Brunswick Floor went above and beyond to work with that organization and get everything done by the time the renter arrived."

"Great people to deal with!  Installer showed up early in the AM, moved  furniture, removed old carpet, installed new carpet, and hauled old stuff off.  They did a great job!  Some houses may have to have the doorway heightened to let Joe in; he's about 6'5" :-) <br />"

"The work was absolutely amazing, professional, and on time. The estimate was spot on for the amount of flooring that they worked on. The price was reasonable for the quality of the work that they did."

"These guys have the widest selection of carpet I've ever seen, across multiple manufacturers. And the discount was substantial enough to make it worth the trip, around 30-40% vs. quotes from local flooring companies, even after considering shipping costs (which were less than I expected). There was a bit of a snafu with the delivery of the carpet, as we needed it to arrive by a set date so our installer (a 3rd party) could install the carpet before we moved into the house. We were in danger of not receiving the carpet in time, but they acknowledged the timing issue was their mistake and as a result authorized a rush next-day delivery without charging us anything extra for shipping so it all worked out."

"whole operation went smoothly as per above. Wonderful to deal with a family business that takes pride in their product and the way they deliver it. I also had 2 other companies give estimates. 50 floor came in at twice the price for the exact same carpet while claiming savings due to free installation. The other outfit was local and charged more for labor."

"My 3 year old son flooded our bathroom to create a "water park" at around 8pm one night. We called A-1 immediately (after hearing on the radio) and they we're there within an hour. We cleaned up as much as we could and they did the rest. The guys we dealt with over the 3 days they we're here to clean up the water, check the fans, etc. we're so professional. We had a great experience and would recommend to anyone!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Dalton, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
