I wish I had joined Angie's list years ago simply for the opportunity to spread the word about Alan D Drake Inc. Over the years he and his crew have done various jobs for my two homes. When I moved into my larger home my husband and I came across Alan when we were looking for a painter, basement remodeling work and bathroom re-do. My husband was so impressed he didn't even do the standard 3 quotes. We hired Alan and have never looked back and always recommend him. He took an idea I had for my basement and helped me design and make my dream come true! His staff and #1 man, Carl, were always professional and courteous and always left the site clean. Any and all questions were answered. I never felt uncomfortable having them in my home with my children and new dog. At that home we had the basement gutted and redone completely including a wet bar, full bath, egress window, new flooring, lighting , etc. Also at that home the back hall gutted, rebuilt, powder room converted to a laundry room, tile floor laid and the upstairs hall bath gutted and redone. Also the entire home interior painted.

He also repainted my original home that I was using as a rental property as well as various repairs to the home. Prior to selling that larger, home I always said yes and gladly gave, and still do, Alan a reference and offered prospective customers a  tour of the work in my home.

Since moving back into our original home he has done painting, gutter cleaning and repairs. I cannot think of any other person to call when I need work done. A true professional through and through and that is what you get from him and his entire crew.

"From The Beginning, Jim was a professional well manner sells rep. He explain to me in detail how everything will go, and he also show me examples of the windows that he would be installing. After the order was made the windows came in on the time estimated by Jim with no complications. Then it come to the installation i was so happy with it, it only took two days to install nine windows. His installers were professional, they clean after them self and got the job done right.

"We have been trying to find someone to replace my mother's 3 skylights for 2+ years.  We had an initial contractor who went bankrupt.  We were left with skylights but no way to install them.  We found a second contractor who told us they would not fit.  However, they were leaking so we needed them sealed at the very least.  I contacted Angie list who got us in contact with Big E construction.  They came out to inspect the roof, skylights, and our new skylights.  The owner said the small skylight we had would work  and could seal the other two.  We received an estimate which I believed was fair.  He was honest and said he could not guarantee lifetime sealing on the other 2 lights which I understood.  So, I asked if he could measure so I could possibly buy new skylights and have them installed.  He was so kind and sent his foreman over to measure.  Well, to our pleasant surprise he determined that they skylights we had would work.  The foreman spent over 1 1/2 there measuring to make sure things would run smoothly.  We received a new estimate which was $1250.  We had the work done the next day.  They did an excellent job.  He put down drape cloths to minimize any mess.  They cleaned up after every stage.  The skylights were in the same day.  They look amazing!  I would recommend Big E construction to everyone I know!

"I highly recommend Roca Construction.  Mr. Roca showed up with his team ? on time and ready to work. 

He carefully sealed off the room from the rest of the house to minimize dust in my home and began demolition.  The thorough clean up after the demo by his crew was much appreciated.  Then the room was fully insulated.  They even uncovered a channel that went al the way up to the second floor between the walls that had never had insulation before. Mr. Roca suggested that they build in a box to contain the insulation and properly insulate the upper floor room.  This to an extra day and he did it at a fair and very small increase to the bill. I am sure that the savings to our gas bill will make up for the small increase in price. The new second floor certainly made the  second floor room much warmer immediately. They insulated the room they were renovating very thoroughly - cleverly reusing some of the insulation that had been there before. 

Then they framed in a new subfloor and replaced sheetrock where it needed replacing. They installed a new wooden floor ? thinking through how the longest pieces of wood should be used.  They also framed in a new ceiling replacing the ugly plywood fake beadboard with beautiful real beadboard - which comes in 2-board slats. It is a lot of work to install this material. Then the entire room was primed and painted.  Using window trim that we specially ordered from a lumber yard - milled to match the other trim in our house, they did a perfect job mitering the corners. They also, installed cove molding - which was constructed from three different cove molding pieces (complicated) as to match the historic cove molding. Then the  final painting was completed.

Mr. Roca is an excellent contractor. His team is professional, highly skilled, responsive, careful, and neat.  They are real perfectionist. The mitered corners were skillfully completed. The floor and ceiling beautiful and level, and the paint job was perfect.  The sidewalk and apron paving was also perfect ? so well done that five of our neighbors hired Roca to re-do their sidewalks too. Now we have a whole block of beautiful sidewalks. 
 
Mr. Roca's team are friendly and quiet. They cleaned up the job site each evening.  They have a good work ethic and show up on time. They did not rush the work and as a result  their work product was excellent too.  The job took about 3 weeks. 

We are very picky about renovations on our historic home. We have fired more than one contractor over the years. My husband is an amateur woodworker - he is very picky about work on the house. We were both delighted with the quality of Roca's work.  I recommend Roca Construction without any hesitation. We will definitely be hiring them again for future projects."
