"Andie was awesome. He installed a garage heater requiring hard wiring, then switched out old outlets and switches in my garage. An issue with my garage door opener wiring was discovered after the job was done and he stayed and rewired it as well. Now I can sleep at night knowing the old wiring in my garage isn’t a hazard anymore! Andie’s communication was outstanding as well, he was prompt and courteous and charged a fair price. I’m glad I have a reliable electrician to call when problems arise in the future!"

"Excellent price, quality work, very responsive to questions and even changing requirements. We purchased an older home that had a lot of "Do-it-yourself" electrical work, Donovan was able to inspect everything, find and fix wiring issues and make recommendations (versus just following what I thought might work) to make everything save and functional."

Customers say: True professional

"Deon of D & D Electrical was just the kind of professional we were hoping for. He completed his work in a timely manner, left no debris behind, and was personable and helpful at every stage. His professionalism and genuine concern for us as clients made this project come to a very successful conclusion. Beyond his work, we found Deon to be a concerned and caring individual. It was a pleasure to interact with him, and he is now our electrician! Jerry Baker"

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Dayton, OH

To select and hire an electrician for your light switch installation, start by evaluating candidates as you would for any skilled position. Ask detailed questions, request a written quote, and verify their licensing credentials. This careful screening prevents unexpected fees and ensures every aspect of the installation, including any drywall repairs, complies with code.

A light switch can malfunction due to compromised wiring or overheating conditions. Faulty connections and excess heat diminish the switch’s performance. If you hear crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when toggling the switch, this indicates active electrical faults that pose a safety hazard and demand immediate professional inspection. Prompt attention prevents further damage and ensures reliable operation.

Installing a light switch takes 30 minutes or less, on average. The installation time depends on the switch type, with dimmer switches requiring additional time compared to standard on-off switches. While the hardware replacement might be completed in 15 minutes, it's essential to adhere to safety protocols, like turning off the circuit breaker and verifying there's no power, for a safe and code-compliant installation.
