"They sent out Victor. He is a nice guy. We have dealt with him a couple of times before. He brought the parts with him, and had the seal fixed in under an hour. The price was reasonable, and thanks to the good people at My Appliance Repair Houston the whole experience was very painless. This is a great company, and great service companies are hard to find. If you have a broken appliance in the Houston area you should give them a call."

"Had been waiting several months for the part to come in. No fault of his at all. He stayed in contact with me the whole time letting me know that it was still on backorder. As soon as it came in he contacted me to get it installed. He came out after I got off work to get the circuit board replaced. It works great! I don't have to babysit my washer for every load to finish before it would just restart if I didn't get to it in time. Definitely will use again in the future for any appliance repairs."

"Were prompt, courteous, and completed the installation efficiently. I have pull down stairs to the attic which make getting the water heater in and out more difficult but they did it effectively."

"My experience with him was pretty good.  He showed up on time.  I think he did the best he could with the refrigerator that was provided.  He fixed it for the time being.  I found that he was perfectly professional.  I don't know necessarily if he went above and beyond but he fixed the refrigerator which is what we really asked for.  He checked another appliance that I asked and that was about it.  He was efficient and got the job done.  He communicated thoroughly which was important to me.  They communicated and made sure what I needed ahead of time when they were coming.  They gave me the thirty minute window that they promised, call wise which some don't.  Their price was about typical."

"Found Nelson group after a very poor experience with Sears. Mike called me fairly quickly after leaving my info with Service Magic. I was able to get an appointment the next day to install a dishwasher. He called ahead when he was on his way (a novelty after dealing with Sears). Took the time to get a missing piece and installed everything. He will be the first person I call if I have an appliance problem."

"Last night my son and I were eating dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Kingwood off 59N. At the end of our meal the waitress walked up to us with the bill and told us that our meal had been paid for. On the back of the bill, Done Brite Services had written a little note saying they like to give back to the community and this was a small token from them. My son and I were very happy and it was a wonderful surprise!! Even though I haven't used or hired Done Brite Services I wanted to say THANK YOU for your kindness!!! I wish you years and years of success. And yes...you made us smile!!! Thank you!"

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Dayton, TX

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
