"My cement front porch was sinking and crooked. Because the porch had sunk, the porch post had detached from the porch ceiling, so I was wedging it to prevent it from falling over. I also had a cracked driveway and needed a piece of house siding near the porch replaced because it had dried cement on it. I received estimates from several contractors listed on the HomeAdvisor website. The contractors I spoke with said they could not fix or replace my porch post nor replace the house siding piece, and some of them provided written cost estimates without itemizing the work they would perform. I was relieved to learn upon meeting with Jason of S & R Eagle Services that this company was capable of fully completing my project. I do not regret my decision to hire S & R Eagle Services. This company performed honest, professional work. The workers were skilled and cleaned up daily. My porch and driveway look beautiful now, and my porch post and siding piece have been replaced and painted to match my home. GOOD COMPANY"

"Alan was very professional at our first meeting taking his measurements, explaining how he would do the job. He gave us a bid within 24 hours and his price was in the middle of the four bids that we received. Alan was able to start three days before his original scheduled date. He worked very quickly and did daily clean up before leaving. The only problem was he neglected to follow instructions on one particular section of the job where we wanted to leave an opening for an existing laundry chute. <br />"

"They were awesome. We had hail damage. They are amazing. The storm was in July, 2016. He came out in the beginning of August to do the initial check of my house. He talked to my insurance company. He was very good with the insurance people in getting my house fixed. It took a while to get done because in Colorado, you can't do some things in the winter. On good days, they would come out and work on repairs.  He subcontracted this stuff out because he looked for people who could do the job at a reasonable price. He is not one of those people that will hire just anybody. He makes sure that the job gets done and people want to work. He called when something came up. He came out to check. He was amazing. He was very informative, very professional and very responsive. I didn't have to deal with a lot of stuff like shady people and insurance scams. He took care of the insurance company and everything else. They were always on time. If they couldn't make it because of weather, you got notification. He would call in advance on the scheduled day, like two hours ahead, so I could get my dogs out of the yard."

"My wife and I were down to two homes in our home buying search.  One we liked more than the other but it had no basement.  It was just a basement with mostly crawl space. We like the house enough that i began to do research on the various companies in the Columbus, OH location willing to consider a project where the crawlspace of a basement is transformed into livable space.  Essentially, take a partial basement and make it a full.  Unfortunately, not many companies did this in Columbus.  I could not find anyone willing to take on the  job that seemed to have previous experience.  When I was doing my research I found CrawlSpaces2Basements.com.  Although located in Denver, I wanted to call to discuss my options.  I spoke to Jason Shaw, program manager at CrawlSpaces2Basements.com.  We spoke for over 30 minutes easily, and he patiently answered all of my questions and concerns on my situation.  At one point I even considered flying him out to Columbus to do the job!  It just wasn't a job I was financially ready to take on.   I wish he was in Columbus or their company would expand to across the country.  It sounds like a great business model.  I told Jason I would post the favorable report on Angies List.  Although it has been 5 months since I spoke to him, I wanted to post this.  I have a friend in Denver who I will refer to Jason.  The website is professional and so was Jason.  I would recommend this company to anyone considering remodeling a basement or who has a crawl space and interested in making it a normal size basement."

"He was on time for the estimate. Showed up when he said he would start. Had a couple of snow days and as soon as it stopped he came over. Always called to let me know what was going on. Kept my yard and around my house clean at the end of every day. He was professional and friendly. In the end, my home looks beautiful and all my neighbors have complemented  on the look. One extra thing we had him do was cover the underside on our patio. He ran soffit the same color as the house and it looks fantastic."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Deer Trail, CO

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
