"Very professional. They did an annual service check on my furnace. While doing so, they found that my filter was wrong and could have caused major damage to the furnace. They were able to find me the correct filter in a timely manner. I'll be calling them whenever something is wrong or I need another furnace cleaning/check."

"I called Quality west to fix my humidifier on my furnace. They were very responsive, and set up a time for a tech to come out and look at the humidifier (who came out within a few days and were on time). When they came out, the tech did let me know that the humidifier that I have on my furnace (a unit that is only about 2 years old), was known to have issues and they would not work on it/get parts for it. They charged me a $99 Diagnostic fee for coming out and were there for just about 30 minutes. The Tech did think that the filter was plugged, and recommended that I get a new filter and that the filter issue should fix the problem with the humidifier. He did say that if there was still a problem within the next 30 days, to simply call back and they would come back for free and try and fix the problem. We got the recommended filter, installed it, and it did not fix the problem (I will be totally honest, the filter got put in upside-down, so it would not fix the problem!) So based on the Tech's comment that they would come back and re-look at it if the initial diagnosis was not correct/did not fix the problem, We called and re-booked another appointment (I mentioned in that phone call the warranty mentioned by the tech.) Well, the same tech came back out and looked at the unit again, noticed the filter was flipped around, turned it around. He reset the humidifier again and then said he would need to charge me another $99 service fee, collected and then left. 15 minutes later my humidifier stopped working again. I relay this story to say that I am reticent to call them back because after spending $265 (two trip charges and a filter), I still have no working humidifier. This company did not seem to be genuinely interested in getting my humidifier working, but was very good about telling me that they did not want to work on my unit, but then happily came out and charged me a return trip fee (after having promised me that they would not.) If you need a new system, or already know something needs to be replaced, they seem like a very reputable and knowledgeable company who will come out and help in a timely and courteous manor. I only interacted with great people. But if you need a product "serviced" or a problem diagnosed? Maybe ask them before having them come out to make sure they will actually help."

"Kieth came out multiple times to address the issues I had. Eventually I had him replace my old Furnace, water heater and AC, in addition he cleaned several drains as well. He explained in detail how the project would be competed as well as a time line. He not only finished sooner than expected but did a phenomenal job, he left the work area cleaner than what I had it. I would highly recommend Plumbing Tree for any home services, Even with current circumstances of money being tight I did get multiple other bids and Plumbing Tree was more than fair!"

"The repair was made.  Sean, the service tech was courteous and professional and obviously knew what he was doing. He replaced the circuit board which took less than 1/2 hour and for that I was charged $597.00. Thinking that the circuit board was pricey (Sean, the service tech indicated so), I thought the repair bill of $597 was reasonable.  Only after calling some stores (the next day) and finding out a circuit board cost $125 did I realize I got ripped off. Controlling Systems labor charge for 1/2 hour work amounted to $472. I called the owner/guy in charge to request a refund for part of the labor charge. (I really didn't expect to receive anything) Not only did this person(whose name I wished I remembered, I would state it here) not want to hear my complaint, he hung up on me because he knew he ripped me off. He was rude and didn't want to hear my complaint. He obviously didn't want to hear anything I had to say, only stating that I agreed to the repair charge beforehand. To that he's correct, I did agree to the charge but when I asked Sean what was the cost of the circuit board, he said  $250-300. Now I know parts are marked up when purchased through a company such as CS but I still believe this company took advantage of me. ( and probably hundreds of others out there). Controlling Systems did not provide parts cost, labor costs, etc in their estimate which they used to (I had used them 3 years ago, but I won't ever use them again) Future potential customers take heed: I WOULD ALWAYS REQUEST THE ESTIMATE REPAIR BILL BE BROKEN DOWN to parts cost, labor cost, etc. And if they tell you they can't provide that, that's a good sign you're being overcharged. <br /> Normally I am careful about negotiating and reading the fine print, etc. but this day I was distracted and the temperature was in the teens. I wanted the furnace fixed and I didn't have time to get estimates. Also if I hadn't  used Controlling Systems I would have been charged the $100 diagnostic(service) charge. Lastly, Sean intially quoted me $700. When I told him I was going to get other estimates, he lowered the estimate to $597. <br />"

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Denver, CO

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
