"SL Landscaping responded right away and provided a quote for extensive weeding. They came on the scheduled day, performed the work, and cleaned up the yard as promised. They followed up once the work was completed. I will definitely use them again. Great job!"

10/13/15 Final update: We never heard back after that phone call but we came home one day and had all new hedges across the front of our house.  I thought it was a bit strange that they didn't contact us at all but they did keep their word and replace the dead bushes.

9/18/15  Update #2.  Received a call this morning (due to the below update??) More insistence that the plants died from lack of watering which  of course was argued because we did try to take care of these plants.  When my husband pointed out that we could go down the street to a very reputable nursery and purchase plants that are guaranteed for a year, no questions asked, he was told the company would replace the 9 plants but this would be the only time.  Fair enough.  We'll see how long it takes and what the final result is.

9/17/15 I need to add to the below original review.  I called last week to talk to someone because 9 of the 24 plants have died.  I was simply asking what could have happened or if there was anything we could do since these had been planted only 3 months prior. I was told someone would call me back later that day but I heard nothing.  I called back the next day and my call was returned.  The person I spoke with said he would come out Tuesday of this week to take a look.  My husband waited but didn't see or hear anyone all day.  My husband called on Wednesday and was told someone would come by on Thursday at 2:30.  My husband  went out for a while in the morning and during that time someone called and left a voicemail saying they had come out "the other day" and determined the plants had died due to lack of watering.  I do understand that there is a bit of drought right now however as I stated 9 of 24 plants have died.  Aside from the fact that I know the plants have been regularly watered I believe that If it were lack of watering some of the other plants would also have died if not all of them.  2 plants right in the middle of the 9 are surviving fine.  I wasn't asking them to replace the plants for free or anything, as a matter of fact we never even really had an opportunity to discuss anything regarding what the company or we could do.  I felt that  since we weren't new customers or asking for some service for which they were sure they would make money that we simply got blown off.  I know things happen but these plants lasted only 3 months.  I would have expected more and I was even more put off by the attitude.  Previously my husband and I had talked about possibly having this company do some other work but I am extremely doubtful that we will call them for anything else now.

6/3/15 We purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for a landscaping makeover.  We were contacted immediately to set up an appointment.  Someone came to our house and assessed what we wanted to have done which was to remake a garden area across the front and down the side of our house.  We were emailed a very detailed proposed plan.  We called to ask a few questions and set up a time for the work to be done.  The morning the work was supposed to be done we received a call that due to weather issues it would have to postponed a day.  The following day workers arrived and completed all work.  They cleaned out the existing area and removed dead shrubbery, landscaping cloth, mulch etc. then planted new shrubbery, rose bushes and other plants in a very appealing design.  I had several azaleas that I wanted to keep and they managed to move these and include them in the project.  New mulch was placed in the area as well as another area that hadn't been discussed but needed the update. We were very pleased with the work and our overall experience.

"Mike came out on a Saturday morning to discuss our needs and review options. He provided ideas and found images of possible plant products to show us. Mike stayed out in the rain to measure and calculate the amount of mulch and rocks needed to meet our needs. He provided a written estimate prior to leaving. Mike was clear about the time frame when he would be able to begin the work and contacted us within the estimated window to establish a start date. Mike and his crew showed up when scheduled and worked over portions of two days to transform the select sections of our landscaping into something we are proud of. Neighbors have stopped by to comment on how nice the project turned out! The personalized service provided by Mike and Colonial Landscaping was outstanding. We plan to use their services going forward for maintenance and enhancement of our landscaping."

"Great....the guys from Landscape Therapy were quick, clean and very professional. I’m very happy w/ the work Looking forward for the next project"

"This work took place eleven months ago, but that gives us the ability to say that everything Kurt’s team planted looks great and is growing nicely, except one bush that is struggling, which Kurt agreed to replace without hesitation. We have been in our house for 22 years, and finally got around to replacing the crummy landscaping and walkway the developer put in. Distinct Landscapes installed a paver walkway, and a complete set of bushes, flowers and a crape myrtle tree. The work was done very well and within budget, and the crew distinguished itself by how well they cleaned up the site. The spacing between plantings to allow for future growth seems perfect. Most of all we like Kurt. He is low-key and friendly, offers solid, knowledgeable opinions when asked, and never applies any sort of sales pressure. We would use Distinct Landscapes again, and recommend them without hesitation."

"Incredibly professional crew, led by Jose Raoul Trejo, and manager/owner, Dan Neufeld.
Dan, my wife and I had several meetings to clarify exactly what was expected and drew sketches of the retaining wall to be certain that requirements were clear to to all.  Dan included Jose after our first meeting to discuss and recommend changes to the plan and ensure that our desires were clear and achievable.  The work was agreed upon to start 2-3 weeks later, on 20 May 13.  Dan notified Miss Utility (thank goodness!--turns out quite a bit of underground electric and cable were present where the work was scheduled and I was not aware of them) and the property was marked prior to the start of work.
Jose and Hector, one of the regular crew, showed up promptly the morning of the 20th and did so every day.  They worked long hours for four straight days with few breaks, usually not quitting for the day until 6pm.  The walls were laid out and improved upon as construction proceeded.  All our initial requirements were met and many improvements and enhancements were made by Jose and Hector, who clearly took great pride in their work.  The work crew was extremely professional, responding to minor changes ("hmmm, I think I'd prefer that [just planted] bush be moved over there") cheerfully.  Cleanup was thorough and complete.
Jose clearly knew what he was doing with retaining walls.  He knew the county codes and worked to ensure things were done properly including drainage, deadmen anchors, rebarb supports, and proper materials.  I would like to emphasize an earlier statement, ?took great pride in their work?.  This came through clearly by Jose and Hector as they went to great efforts to more than simply meet the contractual requirements.  Jose encountered soft dirt, so he dug the wall in deeper.  Hector didn?t like the way some plants looked, so he moved them around to make the landscaping more appealing to the eye.  Additional materials were required, but no additional cost was passed on to me.  I truly felt like they were proud of the work they were doing and wanted my home to reflect their best efforts.
In retrospect, and considering our experience with other contractors, I would attribute the biggest reason for success to be clear identification of the requirements.  Laying these out clearly in drawings, marking the ground, and discussing each aspect thoroughly to be sure everyone was clear, resulted in our expectations being met or exceeded.
I recommend Mt Diablo without reservation.

"Scheduled maintenance lawn care is done on time and professionally. When we request a particular project to be done Natural Element's is always responsive, and does a terrific job. Always on time, caring about how we want the finished result to be, and very knowledgeable about lawn and garden care and maintenance. Our yard and garden look great. Shane and his crew know how to bring out the best in a garden and yard."

"Each time that BOG has attended our home (~6 times annually) they provide us with a notice that they had been to our property, and insight into what was performed. Furthermore, they send us an email from the technician that identifies the services that were provided, items that they've noticed as troublesome, and recommendations to improve. Lawn care is a tricky thing and takes years to improve. I am the type of person that thrives off of instant gratification; therefore, this process has challenging. However, we have had designers come to our property since we've had BOG - and they've commented on the quality of our lawn and how healthy it looks. We truly value the work and efforts that BOG has put in - as it's definitely been noticed."
