"Great. I needed to have the fitting on the gas line that comes out of the wall updated to be used with a new range and oven. It's an older home and the existing gas line fitting would not work with the new range. The work was completed quickly and correctly -- and that was terrific. And yet, that wasn't the whole value play for me. This range was being installed on December 23 and that's when the problem was found. Facing a Christmas with no range and oven was a real possibility and yet, not surprisingly, it was very difficult to find someone who could address this quickly. The fix was known to be easy yet availability was the problem. And, in fact, I had struck out after calling a half dozen firms on Angie's list trying to find someone who could do this. When I called Armstrong it was the same story: It would be several days before they could get someone out to address the issue. Yet, when I explained the impact of that, the woman from Armstrong services was extremely sensitive to the situation and reworked her tech schedule of get someone in to get it done that day -- within a couple of hours of my request. It's not an exaggeration to say that she saved Christmas. After this experience, I would highly recommend Armstrong."

"We were going to have a regular grass & drip system installed in the backyard and Joe gave us the name of the company for landscape & building materials so we can check out the prices and materials we want installed. We told him what we wanted and he explained the things to be done at the same time. He gave us an estimate for the work after a few days. We also let him know that we may go for artificial turf and he was nice enough to let us know that we can ask the same company about artificial turf installation because he doesn't do that kind of work. In fact, he was very helpful & accommodating when we told him of our decision to go with artificial turf instead. My husband & I were comfortable talking to him and if he did this kind of work, we will surely hire him!!!"

"The sales rep was very personable, and quoted a price of approximately $480 after discussing in detail what was needed, which seemed reasonable for a small patio. He emailed me an estimate/contract for that amount, which I quickly read over and signed online. The technician arrived on time and was also very knowledgeable and personable. He installed the system per discussion with the sales rep, showed me how to work it, and gave me a manual. All great up to that point. However, he then asked for a check in the amount of $650, which came as a total surprise. I'm retired, and it was sheer luck that I had the extra money on hand. <strong>Had I been quoted $650, I would definitely have looked at other bids. </strong>I immediately emailed the sales rep and asked why there was a significant increase in cost. He emailed me another estimate/contract for the $650 amount, without comment. It was then apparent that the first online estimate/contract had omitted the timer/controller, which I hadn't noticed. The timer is a nice upscale RainBird, although I would've been okay with a lesser model. But I was not given the option. The in-person sales discussion included a timer--undefined--which should've been in the first online estimate.  Caveat emptor--My bad for not closely reading the first contract that omitted the timer. Although satisfied with the product and service, I feel very taken-advantage-of, and annoyed at the way things were handled. No apology for the mixup, nada. <br />"
