"Doug Schenck is a hard working professional who was very helpful for the second small job we needed painted - the wood trim and ceiling of our screened porch. He previously painted our interior baseboards as I have reviewed already. He is polite, efficient and was able to get the porch job done well and timely. He came exactly when he scheduled the work with us and verified ahead of time to confirm the dates. The porch looks great! He cleaned everything first, patched up some caulking, and painted carefully, cleaned everything up and replaced the furniture. We are so grateful that Doug was able to do our small jobs for a reasonable price and that we found him on Home Advisor!"

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Doctors-inlet, FL

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
