"Went in to store on a Friday afternoon to look at samples. Sales person was not very helpful to us in choosing, just walked around while we looked at different things, so not sure if we got the best carpet for our needs. However, the service/install was exemplary. Owner came out at 9am the next morning to measure/price it out and told us they were 3 weeks out for install. As it turned out, they called us to move the install up as they were ahead of schedule and even then, due to pending snow, moved it up again - if it was convenient for us - so that they could get in/out before the storms. This far exceeded any service I have had from any of the "big box stores"."

"Started well then the job lingered. Between unexpected trouble with the sub floor, not their fault, several sick days, and items not ordered for the job, it took longer than quoted. The other inconvenience was it took them two weeks to remove the ripped out carpet. <br />"

"Excellent, Mike is a true professional. He was on the pricier side, but the quality of his work is top notch. He even had some great suggestions on how we should floor certain rooms. Very pleased with his work and the results."

"Blier Flooring were great to do business with. They came out at short notice to measure and provide a quote for Hardwood and Carpet. Chris and Rocky were total professionals and explained things extremely well. <br /> <strong>Hardwood Installation:</strong> <br /> I have to do a special shout out to the team who installed the hardwood floors. They went the extra mile when it came to ripping out the existing Tile, sub-floor, linoleum and yet another sub-floor. My Wife and I had no idea there were two floors to rip out as we had just purchased our home. The guy's worked in 90+ degree heat with no complaints and a great attitude, They got the job done. Hardwood is great quality and was a a really good mach to the existing hardwood in the Living and dining rooms and the downstairs hallway. The floors just look fantastic. Oh! and they pulled the scheduled installation in a week as well. What can I say, a home run! <br /> <strong>Carpet installation:</strong> <br /> Home Run again! We stopped by the store in Dover to look at Carpet samples and Rocky offered to come straight over to the house and measure our master suite, Awesome! We had the estimate the next day from Chris and the carpet was installed the following week. Great product and again a great installation team. <br /> We were extremely happy with all aspects of a dealings with Blier Flooring and will definitely use them again. <br />"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Dover, NH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
