"I am incredibly impressed with the high quality work UDK has done in our home and the professionalism exhibited by their employees. Russel has come out to our home several times and each time we are even more impressed with his work. Russell is always willing to answer any questions I have and walk me through the clean up and remediation process. I have appreciated his attention to detail and cheerful attitude. We are so grateful for the work he has done in our home and would highly recommend Utah Disaster Kleenup to anyone in need of their services!"

"We found the perfect fireplace tile at Bowcutts after looking everywhere. (porcelain tile looking like stacked rock). We decided to buy carpet here because of good reviews. The carpet is soft and beautiful. The installer, Homer, was a nice guy and did a perfect job everywhere. We bought our bathroom vinyl tile also and they have a huge selection and great quality. We were very happy with Bowcutts."

"Alberto measured my home and gave me a detailed estimate both for fixing the carpets and for cleaning them afterward. He also helped me understand the carpet type (selected by the previous owner) and the benefits (and limitations) of having it stretched in improving the carpet appearance and lifespan. He answered all my questions and worked efficiently. I am glad to have hired him."

"SS Builders is a terrible contractor. He's working on behalf of the VA to help my dad, an elderly vet that requires oxygen, with a bathroom renovation. He and his team have done 0 dust suppression. Between the sheetrock dust and general dirt from a full bathroom renovation, the floor and the air quality in their house is terrible. The room was NOT sealed off to contain the dust and particles and they have NOT cleaned up after themselves. Both my parents require oxygen and they are both suffering physically because of his poor work quality. Also, it doesn't appear that he does any work himself. He uses subs for everything. I told him during the first week that a walking path needed to be left for my mother and her walker. Every time I've gone to pick her up, they've had the walkway blocked. They even blocked the driveway so she had to go all the way to the street to get in my vehicle. He's inconsiderate and doesn't respect his customers or their homes."

"The salesperson was very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing a carpet and laminate style. They were at the house promptly the next morning to measure and provided a bid by the afternoon. Installation was scheduled for the following week with an estimate of three days for completion of the job. The actual installation took 9 days. Installers always showed up late and often did not show up on days they had scheduled. The work quality was marginal at best and required rework where the laminate was not installed close enough to the wall for baseboards to cover, trim was not glued down or was misaligned, and carpet tacks poked through. I had to haul off the old flooring after it sat in the middle of the driveway for a week. There was no contact, inquiry, or response from anyone at the store regarding satisfaction, work quality, or an estimate of when work should be completed."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Draper, UT

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
