"Brent was so great to work with! He was straight forward and communicative, going into detail where he needed to, and turned out an incredibly thorough report that my wife and I plan to use as reference for many years to come. I can’t recommend Enviroquest enough to conduct your home inspection."

"Our family room is built on a concrete slab foundation. We've had water issues forever. We've had others try to figure out why & make suggestions. We hired a company previously that said they could fix it, helped some but still had some wetness after rains. We made a good decision to have David from Basement Waterproofing Solutions come take a look. He studied, he measured & he figured it out. We still check for wetness after a hard rain, we've done it for 20 years. The room has stayed dry for over a year & we are very thankful to David and his team!"

"The company installed a radon mitigation system in my house, reducing the level from 300 to .4. They obviously did superb work, and did it promptly at reasonable cost (much lower than the statewide company I got a quote from). Then afterward they provided outstanding customer service by promptly responding to my request to replace the original powerful fan with a quieter fan. Tuan obviously cared about my satisfaction as a customer. My experience is that this company is extremely competent, professional and trustworthy, and I give them my highest recommendation."

"Tyler was great - he knows his stuff, he's always looking to share his knowledge to make sure homeowners can live in a mold-free house. I had two estimates done for the work (a lot of mold was seen in the ceiling of a bedroom, it was also in one of the walls), and Chesapeake Environmental came in quite a bit lower than the other one. There ended up being more mold than originally thought (it was hard to spot evidence for, both estimates and myself missed it), so there a addition to the scope of the project, but it was still done by the original deadline. The workers were great about closing off an area to prevent spread of mold while they worked, and were punctual and hard-working - can't ask for anything more."

"Install done in 2023 and parts was under warranty. 2 years later it breaks and the company wants to charge to fix it. Product under warranty mean no charge to home owner. Not a reliable company. "

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Duncannon, PA

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
