"We recently hired Garrety Glass to transform our screened-in porch into a three-season room. Jeff, our consultant, gave us expert advice in suggesting a four-way-track system of windows. Along the way, Aimee kept us up-to-date on the ordering and delivery of the product. The final installation was done by Andy and Colt, two very meticulous and dependable workers. Being former educators, we are pleased to award a grade of A-plus to the entire team at Garrety Glass, Inc."

"Shreve Construction Company is a very professional contractor to work with. They demonstrated excellent craftsmanship in numerous projects in my home. I had an incomplete porch project started by another company. I contacted Shreve Company . They came to my home, assessed the situation, figured out how to fix the mistakes that were made by the other company and developed a plan keeping my dream vision in mind. I now have a beautiful 3 season room. It was a pleasure to work with Shreve . I plan to use their services for other home projects."

"It went very smoothly. They were there on time, communicated well and went above and beyond for us, while staying within our budget. We are extremely happy with the way our counters and cabinets look for our new location."

"I supposedly won their contest at the State College Home Show 2022 for $1200 certificate. Rep came out and knew nothing about giving me the prize I won. Should have seen this as red flag. Window and entry door replaced anyway. Like the window. BUT, the door has major air draft coming in down the side and across the bottom. Have been calling repeatedly for 2 months leaving multiple messages- no return call since back in October. Company sent me letter 11/30 and called me that evening trying to get me to hire them to do more work. Assured me they would send someone to correct problem with initial work. Still have not received phone call or service visit from anyone in this company. Don't enter their contests at Home shows- I think they use this as way to get into your home to sell you their company when you haven't really won anything. and don't hire them to do any work. They will not fix any problems!!"

"This company did work for me parents. They charged my parents for materials that were not even used. Saying it was their fault they bought them. HITMAN did not find out what product they already had and just bought materials with no idea what exactly needed. HITMAN installed a railing down steps that was too high…. Saying that there has to be two railings going down a flight of steps….. HITMAN I believe did some bad work. Bad communication skills and show up for work whenever they want."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Duncannon, PA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
