"The technicians who come out to service the property have been professional and courteous. Unfortunately, the company?s sales process and contract practices completely overshadow that. I signed up expecting quarterly service, but was placed on a bi monthly service schedule instead. When I tried to cancel, I was told I couldn?t because of the contract. That?s a major issue ? especially since the sales rep told me I would receive a text confirmation of the agreement, which I never received. Because of that, I didn?t fully realize the billing setup until later. Requiring a contract for routine pest control is already concerning. When the signup process feels high-pressure or unclear, and promised documentation isn?t provided, it comes across less like customer service and more like a lock-in strategy. Also, be cautious with any upfront startup fee ? make sure you understand exactly what it covers."

They feel like family, and I anticipate a lifelong friendship with them because I trust them. I feel very fortunate and have complete confidence in the services they offer. "Calvin was who called me back and he said in order for them to come out and give me a service I would have to sign an agreement that I would continue with them for a year. When I asked what happens if I'm not happy with the job, Calvin said it would be no problem to discontinue. Well, I wan't happy with the job, though the tech that came out to service our home was very nice and professional. However, it did not take care of my pest problem so after 2 tries I cancelled. Now they are saying I have to pay a disconnect fee per the agreement. I told them what I was told and all they would say is "I apologize." Clearly this is a rehearsed line that they've told others. I would have to say that this is a dishonest company. Saying what it takes to get the job and then holding you responsible for their poor work. I am a bit cautious to say the least to go with Angies again if this is whom they are recommending."

"I thought I had fleas and John quickly discovered I had bed bugs instead. He checked the entire house and the only place I had a bedbug infestion was in one bed. He treated the bed 3 times, gave me very clear inspections what to do between his visits and his office support was superb. Anytime I had a question I'd leave a message and she'd call me back iwithin a minute. Reliance Pest Management will be our past control people from here on."

FAQs for rodent pest control service projects in Durham, NC

Rodent exclusion seals every gap, vent, and crack that rodents use to sneak inside your home. Most homeowners pay an average of $200 to $600 for this add-on. By blocking entry points, you create a long-term barrier that cuts down on repeat infestations and helps protect both your family and your property.

Pros start with an inspection, then place tamper-resistant bait stations and traps in high-traffic spots. They’ll also seal entry points and clean droppings to reduce health risks. Follow-up visits confirm that the plan worked and that no new rodents have moved in. This step-by-step approach removes the current infestation and helps keep your home rodent-free going forward.

A trained pest-control pro can pinpoint hidden access points using a flashlight, thermal imaging, and plenty of crawl-space sleuthing. During an inspection, the specialist maps every gap, vent, or pipe run that rats use, then explains how to seal each one. This detailed report lets you tackle the weak spots immediately and dramatically lowers the odds of another infestation.

Rodent prevention starts with managing food and entry points. Store pantry items in airtight containers, take out trash promptly, and keep pet food sealed. Outside, trim vegetation and stack firewood away from the house. Inside, seal gaps with steel wool or hardware cloth. A tidy yard and a buttoned-up home give rats and mice few reasons—or routes—to move in.

For wall or attic nests, pros place snap traps or CO2-powered units in the exact runways rats use, then return to remove carcasses and reset as needed. Poison is risky indoors because rats may die in hidden spots, creating odors or health issues, so most technicians avoid it. Once trapping is complete, they’ll seal entry points and clean droppings to finish the job.

Plan on several weeks, especially for larger infestations. Your pro will set traps, return every few days to collect rats, and adjust placement until activity stops. Final visits include sealing access points and sanitizing affected areas. Timelines vary, but most homes are rat-free after two to four follow-ups. Prompt scheduling and good sanitation can shorten the process.
