"Celano Electric is fantastic! I learned about them from an online search using Angi. They will always be my first call for any electrical work. These guys know what they are doing and they do the job right. They will treat your house like itâ s their own. The scope: I moved from out of state and bought a house that was all knob and tube wiring. They re-wired the whole house and upgraded my electric panel from 100A to 200A. They have excellent customer service. I was hooked from my first phone call. Ray talked me through the process of the job and outlined everything for me. He provided more details and insight than the other contractors that I had contacted. I was given a very detailed invoice covering every room in the house and a list of specific action items to be performed. I received updates about every week or so, on the progress. From time to time I would stop in at the house and the electricians would show me their progress. They took the time to explain in detail what was happening. They also answered all of my questions. They put me first. Their work was quality. Their work was second to none. They took pride in their work and they did things the right way. Sometimes, they got a little behind on time in order to do the job properly. My house is old and there were a few issues. They took the time to come up with creative solutions. These guys would also go above and beyond to do the work. They have an amazing team! Each of the electricians was friendly and respectful to me, my belongings, and the house. They were careful with my things and always asked to use something. I am very grateful for their level of care while working on the house. For the cost of everything - labor, materials, drywall, etc., this project was a really good deal. Seriously. Celano electric worked with me to save money. The safety and security that I have knowing that everything works and was done correctly was worth the time and the money. Honestly, the price was half of the cost from my first quote, and it was lower than the other two I received as well. The bottom line is that these guys are great. They know what they are doing, and they treat you like they would want to treated. -Also, they recommended a plumber for me."

"Upgraded my 100 amp service to 200 amp. They were cost affective when compared to other bids I received. And the one thing for note The state inspector complimented their wiring in the panel saying it was very clean. "

"Hire this company! They replaced the knob and tube wiring in my house as well as other updates like adding overhead lights, outlets, smoke detectors, etc, basically everything to make the electric system and lighting in my house modern and safe. They were very thorough, efficient, and professional! Bill H. did the estimate. He explained things clearly and was very patient with a new homeowner with a lot of questions, The company was very easy to work with. Both Bill and John were very quick to respond by phone and email, and Bill called with regular updates as they were working on the house, and did several thorough walkthroughs to show me the progress. They even finished a day early and left everything very clean and well-patched! It was an expensive project, but they gave me the best price; because it was a big project, they offered much better prices on installing the lights, outlets, etc, than other companies I talked to (I got quotes from three companies). I very highly recommend them and would definitely hire them again!!"

"Both jobs went very well. The overhead light fixture had shorted, possibly related to a leak from the bathroom above. John fixed the wiring to the fixture, as well as getting the light working again. He then checked an 3rd floor bathroom outlet that worked intermittently. I got the impression that his experience as an electrician helped him quickly figure out that the problem was related to how the outlet had been connected to the gfci outlet in the 2nd floor bathroom and changes to that outlet when the 2nd floor bathroom was renovated a couple months before. His work was fast and thorough."

"Bill H from Gambino Electric showed up promptly on time for the job. There were some edge ceiling tiles that needed to be removed to reach the power line and Bill did very clean work with the removal and disposal. Bill showed cross sections of the older range power line and the new line installed, describing the differences in insulation and safety features of the newer line. Bill went above and beyond by detecting the wrong cord on the new range, and replaced this with the proper range gauge power cord. Bill also helped us to correctly position and level the new range appliance. I would recommend Bill and Gambino Electric for any similar household wiring job where safety and quality of work are a priority."

"I hired Lights On Electric to run an underground line from the electric panel in my home to my new storage shed, 80 feet within the home and 100 feet buried conduit to the electric panel in the shed. This required a rental trencher and some difficult hand digging. The work was done in one day by Hank and Chris. They are able technicians and they did an excellent job. Hank and Chris are a pleasure to work with. I'm very happy with the results."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Eagleville, PA

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
