"My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire Capital District Electric, and we can’t say enough good things about the owner, Eric Smith. We needed our dangerous Federal Pacific electrical panel replaced (search it). Through Angie's List, we contacted several contractors. Eric was the first to reply and the first to come over to give us an estimate. (One didn’t even bother to tell us they weren’t interested in the work.) We liked Eric right away. He’s professional, polite, and personable. He knows his trade and is very good at it. He was here when he said he would be and gone when he said would be, the place left absolutely clean. His work and work ethic are impeccable. I wish I took before and after photos of the two panels. The original one looked like a square bowl of spaghetti, with twisted wires sticking out the top, sides, and bottom. The new one is perfect with all the wires neatly entering the top. It was nice to deal with the owner of the company, rather than someone who’s just doing a job. It would be a big mistake to make a decision about Capital District Electric and Eric based on the two lowest ratings on this site. Obviously they didn’t have work done, and one doesn’t appear to apply to this contractor. They should be taken down. And No, we’re not related to Eric."

"John is a customers ultimate contractor, heâ s very professional, when he says heâ s going to be there heâ s there, which is a rarity today, I had to redo my electrical service over and add 4 panels with meters on a rental property that I owned in Troy , John design the job and did it exactly the way that we Discussed it , in a very timely manner and very neat.( I am and electrician down in the city, so for me to have someone reliable and trustworthy to do my work on my properties is very comforting) I will use him on any future work that I have."

"Zach installed a new electrical outlet for our dryer. He took the time to explain what he was going to do and had the work done within 2 days of giving the estimate. I would use him again for any electric work. "

"Quality work! Frank came out for three jobs.. Two electrical jobs and one outdoor project. 1) installed new lights in my basement and moved the switches to a more logical location. 2) removed an old lamp post outside and shut off the electrical lines that ran to it. When my wife and I decide what kind of lighting we want outside, we will be hiring him again for the install. 3) removed several small-medium boulders from the property. Also moved a large pile of scrap wood to our burn pile (would have taken me hours). Highly recommended for general handyman work and/or small tractor work outside."
