"We had originally planned on removing the old tile as well as the old dirty carpet. While they mentioned it would be a dirty job I didn't realize how long it would take. We ended up being in a bit of a time crunch. The installer was the one who had to tell me we couldn't do the tile but was able to come up with a very good option. He was on time when it came to the install of the floor and did a beautiful job We love the new flooring and it even looks good next to the original tile - we just need to get that cleaned up.

We love doing business with a local small business - Finstads certainly fills the bill!"

"The appointment was made via the national service center on a Friday. It was scheduled on the following Monday. Originally, the time given was between noon and 4PM. We received two calls in the interim each refining the arrival time. The actual time of arrival was about 45 minutes after the predicted noon arrival.
The cleaning was performed by, Andre Garza. He was pleasant, informative, and work diligently for 2.5 hours to complete the spot cleaning, the steam cleaning, and the protective spray application.
Originally we scheduled carpet cleaning in the master bedroom, two hallways, a walk-in closet, and a stairway and said there were additional small areas (not whole rooms) exhibiting high traffic stains. The price quoted without the additional small areas was $130. Andre examined the total of what we wanted done, explained that spot cleaning the high traffic areas would not be satisfactory because they would be noticeably cleaner than the adjacent rug. So we agreed to have the den, living room, dining room, and study included for an additional $80.
Additionally, we agreed to have a protective spray (similar to ScotchGuard) applied. The price for this was $110. This price for this struck me as being somewhat excessive. Time will tell if it was a good decision to have it applied.
The carpet, which is twenty years old and to our knowldge has never been shampooed, cleaned up very well --- far better than our expectations (especially the high traffic areas) --- we are quite happy with it."

"We built a new house and selected Contract Flooring based on a friend's recommendation for all the flooring and blinds. I was impressed with their selection and wide variety of price ranges. They were really helpful and patient during the selection process and often made suggestions I hadn't thought of. They worked with our budget and made sure we were within our range. They installed the flooring right on time. We had a tile done in a bathroom, their tile guy was amazing and we were so impressed with him. Would definitely use them again for tile. However we had a hickory plank wood flooring installed. We have been trying to work with them for 2 months on getting some issues resolved and as of today still have not got it fixed. The wood was installed with gaps in it as well as some splintered pieces. We were told this is the way it is supposed to be. The installer will not return our phone calls. My suggestion, don't pay until you are completely satisfied with everything. We ordered blinds and were told 2 weeks, however the order was never placed and so about 45 days later we had blinds. Overall I was happy with the pricing and sales help. Not happy with the follow up service."

"Wonderful! We had a very unique design and style concept for our home and Sussex was the only builder in the area who was comfortable taking on something outside of the traditional Montana style custom home. Sussex provided a very detailed quote and detailed project plan which made it easy to understand and to monitor. Sussex provided a tremendous amount of support in picking out all the details of the house which would have been overwhelming. We were not quite in by the original target date, but Sussex went above and beyond down the stretch to get the home done by our adjusted move in date. They were incredibly responsive to the few issues we had over the course of our first year in the home. Wonderful experience. If we ever get the opportunity to build again, it will be with Sussex."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in East Helena, MT

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
