"Adam did a great job and was able to get it done much faster than other businesses. He used the right hardware for the job so it should last. I would definitely hire Adam again. Great work."

"The service was excellent! They arrived to pick up the vehicle a day earlier which was great. They delivered the vehicle right to my daughter's door and found a side street to unload. The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"We are very pleased with the quality of work.  Andrew was very prompt with my request for a quote and was easily the best price from the 6 quotes we received.  Andrew is a very personable and professional man that knows what he is doing.  He was able to come out early because of a delay in another job and get some prep work started.  The job was two days of wood filling, sanding, & vacuuming and two days of sealing & drying.  They used different types of Bona brand poly for each of the three layers.  <br /> We were very impressed with the repair work that was done at the top of the stairs.  Boards were removed and underneath was a 2x2 that sat on top of a steel beam.  The 2x2 created a bump in the floor and the boards looked warped.  The 2x2 was removed and the joists were bridged over top of the steel beam.  Wood was removed from a closet floor (with my approval), and replaced the boards at the top of the steps.  New wood was put down in the closet and if I didn't tell you it was new wood you wouldn't know. <br /> We moved in yesterday and the floors survived!  Thanks Andrew & Mike! <br /> We are looking to do more work with them in the future and have recommeneded them to some coworkers. <br /> <br />"

Afraid the surface will not hold up. Stopped concrete pour when rain started.  Had to wait so long, sent the mixer/truck home and later that day they had to go out and buy/hand mix 2-3 bags of concrete mix to finish the pour. <br /> Even after cautioning their equipment operator not to drive heavy equipment over a buried water line, they did it anyway.  Dug it up to verify no damage done, buy why not avoid the hassle? <br /> I did part of the demolition myself for fear they would damage my bifold door framing (interfaces sunroom with house). <br /> <br /> <strong>Comments on sunroom construction</strong>: <br /> At end of 2nd day (8/7), noted lots of vinyl and aluminum ?sawdust? on the ground in my back yard, which is where my 3 dogs go <br /> to play.  Asked them what they would do about it and they said they would shop vac it up at the end of the project.  When it rained on the next two days, that was their excuse not to clean up the small debris, which sort of makes you think twice about walking barefoot in your back yard.  So far the dogs are okay? <br /> Sunroom was built approximately ¾? wider (3/8? at each end) than it should have been, forcing GDI to install spacers and lots of caulk to correct their error.  It looks okay and so far, it seems to be holding up but over a minimum 10 year lifespan I have my doubts. <br /> Leak appeared in roof at first rainstorm following completion.  GDI came out and fixed it in a timely manner ? again, using lots of caulk.  <br /> Since onset of winter and snow, have noticed effects of poorly insulated ceiling and walls with poor thermal breaks:  ice dams in the sunroom gutter, and condensation on my new hardwood floor.  See attached photos. <br /> <br /> GDI came out and installed insulation in the spaces between the windows this past spring (2013).  The guys doing the work admitted this should have been done during the initial install. <br /> <br /> <strong>One year later...<br /> </strong>I installed a woodburning stove in the corner of the sunroom in August of 2013.  The chimney exited through the eave of the room, not through the new enclosure roof, so if there were any leaks around it they would be my fault...I thought. (see photo) <br /> Initially I did have some flashing leaks which I could see coming down the chimney from inside the room.  I also had some leaks appear in the new enclosure ceiling that were not there before, but I attributed them to the flashing leaks.  So I had a professional roofer from Dunrite Exteriors come out and redo the flashing and the leaks around the chimney stopped.  However, the leaks in the ceiling persisted.  I spent much of a day on the roof with a hose trying to get the ceiling leaks to appear by squirting water around the chimney, but could not.  Finally I took heed to something my wife said: "The new chimney changed the rain runoff pattern on the sunroom roof and something that didn't leak before has now reared its ugly head", or words to that effect.  Well, just below the chimney there's a splice in the sunroom flashing that goes up under the first (bottom) row of shingles.  There's a screw there holding the two pieces down to the sunroom roof, with plenty of caulk on it to prevent leakage.  But it looked to me like water could get to that screw under the flashing by entering from the side - so I removed it.  Lo and behold, there was a second, uncaulked hole next to the screw I'd removed, hidden by the flashing.  It looks like the installers put a screw there initially before the overlapping piece of flashing was installed, then realized they needed a screw to go through both pieces of overlapping flashing and removed the first screw <strong>without patching the hole!  </strong>So water <strong>was</strong> entering the overlap in the flashing, going into the second open hole, then finding its way down to the new ceiling of the sunroom.  I plan to caulk the extra hole tomorrow and expect it will solve the problem.  Just another example of GDI's poor workmanship.  See attached photos for details."

"The Village Craftsmen / Bath Planet of Northeastern Ohio crew was professional and responsive to our last minute changes to the design. Considering these unplanned structural changes, the crew was easy to work with and the extra cost seemed more than reasonable. We chose to replace the existing built-in linen cabinet and vanity with new Bertch hickory cabinets and matching light bar, a Kohler two-door medicine cabinet to replace the wall-inset mirror, and Invictus vinyl flooring, all from Hartville Hardware. This one-stop shopping made it really easy to match the color of our pre-existing tile to what would be our new flooring and cabinets. All of that was $4,400 of the total cost of the bathroom remodel. These decisions and cost were done outside of Village Craftsmen involvement, however the installation of these items was included in the initial Village Craftsmen estimate. The wet area is a Bath Planet design with a bathtub with removable section for stepping through, and a shower with a spray hose. There are many enclosure patterns to choose from, which are picked out of a catalog when getting the initial estimate from the Bath Planet representative who came to our home. We also chose oil-rubbed bronze Moen fixtures and grab bars (Brantford style) that give the bathroom a very sophisticated look. The work for the demolition of cabinets, bulkheads and flooring, and replacing of the drywall, was done expertly and quickly. The Village Craftsmen assessed the condition of legacy pipes, and water-damaged floor, and replaced what needed to be replaced as par for the course -- not cutting corners, but doing it right the first time. The total cost was an initial down payment of $5,100 and another $6,400 at the end of the eight-day job. We are not do-it-yourselfers by any means, so we were happy to put the work into the experienced hands of the Village Craftsmen crew, who did an excellent job remodeling our bathroom. We couldn't be happier with the result and believe it was well worth the cost. -- Karla Tipton, Barberton, Ohio"

"They were very professional, well mannered, and friendly. They cleaned up well afterwards. She even went out of her way to go to our home owners meeting, because my area normally doesn't allow fences. My back yard is very hilly, and picket fences just aren't an option for me. She truly went above and beyond."
