"UPDATE 10/15/15: The carpet is now coming undone at the seams and we will need to have it pulled and tacked down again, only two-months after having it installed.  I would NEVER recommend this carpet company. <br /> <br /> ********** <br /> The Carpet selection process was great. They have a nice showroom and a wide variety of carpet to choose from. They also offered nice, comfortable carpet padding. The purchase and selection process went very well and were pleased with our carpet rep, Chad who also came out and took all of our measurements and made recommendations on the best carpet to choose from for our home style and layout. <br /> The installation process was not as smooth. We moved all the furniture in preparation but when the crew (three of the them) arrived at 10:30 in the morning we were informed they couldn't get it done in one day. While the installation team was polite and worked very hard, they were in a hurry due to the tight scheduling and were not very careful. The scraped, gouged and severely scratched our dark wood base boards throughout our downstairs. They left marks on the walls and scraped off paint in areas. In certain corner spots, the carpet was not tacked down as securely as in other areas so will likely begin lifting. The second day, only one team member returned to finish and he did an excellent job on the stairs. Unfortunately, when they pulled up the carpet on the stairs the day before, they left scratches and gouges on the wall along the stairway. Additionally, they didn't clean up well. Loose carpet string was left protruding along the edges which we had to go through and snip off. They left a lot of debris behind for us to clean up. We also had to go through and pick up carpet staples left around on the carpet before we could vacuum. <br /> We alerted the rep to what had happened. He contacted us and apologized and offered to come look at the damage, but then went on vacation and we never heard back. We've since patched and repainted the wall marks and will repair the damage to the wood baseboards ourselves. <br /> A friend of mine in the area used this carpet retailer a year ago and had a similar experience. I suppose I should have listened to her and perhaps chose another flooring company. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in East Wenatchee, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
