"They were timely, prompt and efficient with a fair price quote and conscientious, caring workmanship and service. When the hammering on the roof caused my kitchen fixture to shatter, Tim came with me to Home Depot to select a replacement, which he purchased and installed."

"Vellox was amazing. My neighbor recommended I check with them when obtaining quotes for the work on my house which needed a new roof and gutters. Gleyson Olivera from Vellox was the only company rep of all of the other 5 quotes I received who came to my home AND walked me around my house giving recommendations as well as listening to my concerns. The lead time was acceptable, the quotation was competitive and there were no "hidden" extras such as rotten wood add-ons. Also, Vellox was the only company to account for overhangs on my roof and bring the ice and water shield farther up the roof. All of the other companies missed this. I made the decision to go with Vellox and the work was completed in one day. The workers did a fantastic job, the installation looks extremely precise, neat and it's painfully obvious how poorly installed my original roof was. I am beyond pleased. The gutter installs also came out perfect and include guards so I don't have to clean them out again. The team was very professional, neat and timely and I would recommend Vellox Construction to anyone looking for similar work."

"It isn't very often that you deal with a contractor and can enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. So many contractors can sell you a bill of goods, do the job, only to never be heard from again. It has happened to me more times than I can count throughout the years. Jim Del Prete, the owner of Beantown Home Improvement, is a stand-up guy. He is what we growing up in Boston used to call "a straight shooter." We had our whole house's natural wood shingles replaced with Certainteed Polymer shingles (the 5 inch straight-edged kind) with the half-round shingles on one dormer. We also had 3 basement windows, a basement door, a porthole window, and 2 skylights replaced, all with composite material. The individuals that work for Jim are so hard-working. They came during light rain, cold wind, and a few super-hot days. They never complained and showed up every morning at around 8A and left in the late afternoon. If we found something that we didn't understand or that bothered us, Jim answered our texts and emails almost immediately. I sometimes called (not often) and Jim picked up his cell right away. The biggest take-away is that Jim is responsive to the nth degree. As I stated in the beginning - no sleepless nights. But I want to tell you the best part. My husband served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp. What a pleasure to find out that Jim honors our nation's veterans in the most tangible of ways. He doesn't say "thank you for your service" he says "I will take 20% off the bill as my gratitude for your service." What do you think about that? So, you will be dealing with an honorable and obviously patriortic American who values you as a customer and a person who has served our country. The cost of the job is competitive, but don't be fooled by a lower bid. You want the best materials with a knowledgeable crew. And - Jim comes back. If you notice a few very minor things, they are fixed promptly, even after the final payment is made. The contract states a third down, a third when the crew shows up, and a third when the crew is competely finished. Like I said, don't worry if you find something later, it will get fixed. This is nothing for Beantown to come back, and he takes the worry away from you. Jim will be able to furnish us as a reference if you want to chat about our experience. We didn't know it at the time, but 2 of our neighbors had already hired him. I sought out a 5 star rated contractor from Home Advisor. Now, the house looks inviting and I have his sign still up on my lawn.Several neighbors have been over to take a look and ask a ton of questions. It is my belief that Jim should hear from a few soon. We are people who want to relax now after years of hard work and not have to paint or touch the outside of the house. We just can't be thinking about maintenance anymore and this was just the solution for us. Do yourself a favor. Call Jim. Ask him dozens of questions. Take the first step into a hassle-free experience. And remember, fear not. Jim will not desert you - from the beginning, middle, end or after. He will respond to you in a considerate, respectful manner."

"Joe responded quickly. He did the necessary repair at reasonable price and explained what went wrong. Another larger roofing company wanted to replace the whole roof. Joe is honest to tell us that the roof is in overall good condition. Only a section needs to be repaired due to the damage from a poor de-ice job years ago."

"Quick response to repair leak which was great because heavy rains were on the way. Partial roof replacement was very conveniently scheduled around the weather and my and my tenants availability. Work was completed in less than a full day. They cleaned up well. No mess left outside the house or on the porches (3 family house)."

"I had a small leak. Sprague quickly diagnosed the need for a very expensive roof repair. I also had a skylight that was dripping and decided to replace a group of four skylights. The work was spread out over a longer time than anticipated, which Sprague said was due to unusually wet weather. As far as I can tell as an amateur looking up at the roof from a distance, the quality is good but only some winters with no leaks will confirm that. They put some rather conspicuous shiny white concrete in one small part of a strip of gray concrete but said it would eventually weather to the same color. The substantial problem came over the skylights. My existing skylights came with retractable shades for those summer days when sun shining through the skylights could be blistering hot. During the initial conversations, we focused on whether we would be able to use the old shades or would have to replace them. When the job was done, there were no shades and they were emphatic that the shades were not included despite our detailed conversations about them. The wood just inside the skylights had been replaced and needed to be overlain with higher quality wood and painted. I had assumed, based on our conversation, particularly about the shades, that doing these things was part of the job. But I didn't explicitly write the shades into the contract. Regarding the wood, they pointed to a sentence deep within the many pages of the document that left me responsible for any inside work. I had seen that but never imagined that the wood they used would have to be covered up with higher quality wood before it could be painted. I was quite surprised, particularly when I found out that this residual work, requiring a carpenter, a painter and a shades specialist, would cost several thousand dollars. I felt stupid to have relied so heavily on the conversation and to have signed off on something that only a professional would understand. In the future I would recommend having a specialist lawyer review any contract. It would have been much more professional of them to clarify at the beginning how much would remain to be done after they finished what they understood to be the job. Finally, a small thing: They didn't clean up carefully. Left in the yard were things like a roll of what looked like insulation, thirteen pounds of copper nails (I weighed them), and other stuff. I didn't feel comfortable throwing all those copper nails in the trash, so they sit in my garage pending possible donation to some workman standing outside Home Depot on my next trip there. Because of a previous experience with Sprague, I made a point of asking them to be sure to take away the advertising signs they had placed in my yard; they promised they would, but they didn't."

"After 3 decades of every few years replacing various pieces of rotted wood trim on our house with PVC I decided to take the leap and replace all the wood trim that had the potential to rot all at once. LCT Construction had just done an excellent job replacing my roof and I picked them for the trim work. The salesman James who I worked with was more knowledgeable than all the others I've dealt with, was direct when discussing various options and details, and was committed to doing quality work. It's hard to judge these days, but I think their price was very reasonable. At the beginning of the work James came by and we reviewed exactly what was to be done to make sure there were no misunderstandings. The day before work started they dropped off the material they needed for the job along with a dumpster (with wood under the skids to protect the driveway) for the discarded wood. The workers were here every week day with the exception of 1 rainy day even on days in late November when it was very cold until the job was complete. Each day they started around 8:00 am and didn't leave until it got dark, and they cleaned up before they left. All my interaction with everyone on the crew was friendly and relaxed and we were happy to have them around. On the last day they cleaned everything up and removed the dumpster that evening. Every aspect of their work was excellent. I'm no expert, but I've had a lot of trim repaired over the years and this is the best I've seen. I couldn't ask for better workmanship. During the work they discovered some rot that needed to be repaired. They did it for a reasonable charge, and there was never any attempt to up sell or expand the scope of work. The only negative was that they told me the day before the agreed starting date that they needed to slip by 2 weeks. I wish that hadn't occurred but compared to everything else it's not significant. If I ever need trim or roofing work again I'll definitely contact LTC. They were completely professional and easy to work with, did exactly what they said they'd do with no hassle, and I couldn't ask for a better result. I recommend them without reservation for any roof or trim work."
