"It is a pleasure to give Kevin a positive recommendation. He was prompt professional and did a quality job. He laid the hardwood floor in 2 bedrooms in less this a day and a half. The house was left clean and he communicated very well when decisions had to be made regarding the installation. He is a good, safe choice if you need work done, <br />"

"They did a good job. We went in there, we were driving around getting estimates. We went in and talked to the sales lady, we picked a good high quality carpet and pad. The reason we would not use them again they tore up the screen on one window and never replaced it. My biggest complaint, the sales lady was very very helpful during the purchasing period, she said once the carpet was installed she was going to do a walk through with us. Well we never heard from her again, there were a few things I wanted to point out to her, minor things. The carpet looks good, it was a good job. I would just not use them again because the lack of customer good will."

"Bart was prompt and professional and the folks at the store were very patient with me when I was picking out my tile, they even let me take home samples to see how they looked in the rooms actual lighting. The crews cleaned up fairly well but for a few weeks I was finding old tile chips here and there. Will totally use them again in the future! <br />"

"<p>The entire purchase and installation process went very smoothly.  The in-store consultation and on-site services were excellent.  Augusta Flooring is a locally-run business that maintains a high standard of quality, and I can't say enough wonderful things about my buying experience.  I have already recommended Augusta Flooring  to several of my friends who are looking to remodel and update their homes.</p> <br />"

"The sales person, Donna, came to my house very quickly after I called to measure the room.   She helped me to choose a product in the sales room and ordered it in good time. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The installers came on the day promised, took up the carpet and put down the subfloor.  The next day they came and installed the new flooring.  These three men were very polite, worked steadily and cleaned up completely.  There are no problems at all and the floor looks excellent. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Donna called after the work to be sure I was completely satisfied. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Edgefield, SC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
