"James from JZ Construction LLC was phenomenal. Not only was he transparent in his quote pricing, he moved some things around to make sure the job got done on our schedule. The tile work was beautiful and well done. The rebuild took a day less than we had planned. He even helped connect us with an electrician and repaired the cuts in the drywall done by the electrician. He and his team were amazingly nice. James went above and beyond. Will hire again for future jobs!"

"It was amazing! Let me say right off the bat that Ken from Floor Gem was great. We had some water damage and needed to get the floor replaced before Thanksgiving. We had a little mix-up on the installation date and time but Ken was fantastic and with incredibly short notice he was able to arrange a team to perform our install. They did an amazing job! We couldn't be happier!"

"Hired Dependable Carpet to replace carpet throughout the house, roughly 2000 sq ft of wall to wall carpet over 3 stories. We shopped around and got multiple quotes, and Tom (the owner) not only was very informative but about 15% cheaper than everyone else as well. His crew showed up on time and worked about 23 hours over two days (they did a 3 day job in 2 days). They were very careful with the furniture, walls and baseboards. Nailed floor boards where needed. Tom and his wife Monique also stopped buy to inspect. I could not have been happier with the carpet and installation. I would highly recommend Dependable Carpet and Tom to anyone looking for carpet."

"I though the finished product was well done, until the carpeting on the steps came loose and both the plumper, me and my dog slipped on the steps. Advise Anthony Barrera of the problem, and he promised to fix it. He never did."

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Edgewood, MD

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
