"I HAD SYNTHETIC GRASS INSTALLED AND IT HAS SEAMS THAT SHOW UP DRAMATICALLY, UNEVEN SURFACE, GAPS BETWEEN THE SEAMS, WRONG NAILS USED THAT ARE RUSTING, DIDN'T CAP THE OLD SPRINKLERS AND TOO MANY PROBLEMS TO WRITE DOWN ALL OF THEM. THEY CAME BACK SEVERAL TIMES TO FIX THE PROBLEMS, BUT NEVER SEEMED TO GET IT RIGHT. LIKE THE OLD SAYING GOES, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."

"The 4 spinklers in the front yard and 7 in the back were checked. One sprinkler head in the front yard was dug out and the pipe capped as we had xeriscaped that part of the yard. This required a lot of digging and working through lots of roots! The head was then used to replace one in the back yard that was not working very well. Great service!"

"The last review for Hilltop on Angi's is from June 2020. Maybe they have no crews in 2021, but they sell themselves as a huge company with lots of trucks and workers. It's been almost 3 months and they aren't even 1/4 done with the work. They send one person, sometimes 2, to look like there is progress. They don't always have the tools. We've paid them almost the full amount and we have little to show for it. If you are considering them, get a Completion Date in writing. We were stupid and didn't. They go fast on those jobs that have high traffic and visibility, but for the rest of us....We're tucked away in a neighborhood. It will take them a year at this rate. We are incredibly frustrated and disappointed in this company. We liked talking and setting up the contract with Jim, but it was all words. We actually thought we'd have a dependable landscaper who would help us through the years, planting and maintaining the landscape. We can't handle working with them at this point. Jim should have said that they couldn't get it done within a reasonable timetable and not agree to take the job. That would have been the honest thing to do. We would have respected that. We don't respect the 'stringing along the client for months' approach."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Edgewood, NM

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
