"The entire process went well. The estimate was made in a professional, inclusive manner. The installer arrived on time, worked with knowledge and expertise, answered our questions, and completed the installation early afternoon. He cleaned up the work area, removed the old carpet and took it away in his truck. We are very pleased, with the way our basement appears, now, and we are thankful to,have" had it done by Factorty Tile. <br />"

"Prior to contacting Mr. Walz, I had a very negative experience with the bait and switch shenanigans at Home Depot. The low installation rates they advertise is a joke, since they will not install unless you use the padding they dictate. I saved money and was very happy with the service and quality I received. Our room, hallway and stairs look great. <br />"

"My salesperson spent extra time with me because I had a hard time deciding on flooring for my home. A friend suggested Collins and I'm glad because I had not heard of them. Their prices are competitive and the service is nicer than I've experienced at other stores. <br />"

"Excellent.  Our first experience was when the store sent Mark Watkins (partner, Kevin), who are installers, out to our home for measurements and to explain the job. We are the type to ask alot of questions and Mark took his time in answering all of them while building trust in his work ethic. This job was a three day process and we were able to be home during that time.  We saw there work first hand. Mark and Kevin showed great care moving our appliances and worked well together, quickly and efficiently while being friendly and explaining as they went if asked.  They communicated well as we knew what step to expect next. They arrived promptly and always cleaned up from their work. As an example, when cutting underlayment outside the front door on the cement driveway, they vacuumed up the sawdust before leaving for the day.  The store is owned by the Locker family and we dealt with Aimee Locker, a young lady who is more than knowledgeable about her products and the people who work for her. She was as willing to please, efficient and friendly as she could be. We appreciated working with her through every detail and would definitely do business with her again."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Edwardsburg, MI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
