In the end, they were able replace faulty fasteners, seal up the seams and caulk some problem areas at 1/8th the cost of a full replacement. They even added additional rows of screws as need to bring the fasteners up to current standards. This reconditioning job should give another 15 to 25 years out of the existing metal roof. "Over all it was OK.  I was not happy with how much time I had to spend picking up trash after they left - from strips of sharp metal, to dozens of screws every day for a week (literally), to their snack wrappers and drink cans every evening.  The house had been painted a few months prior to the roof job and they managed to gouge several pieces of newly painted wood from the sides of the house.  I was told it would not mildew and 2 years later it has and needs a cleaning.  Had they been honest about that, I would have gone with a darker color.
