"Carpet Hut recommended a good value carpeting that should last for a long time.  Carpeting was installed at the end of summer 2015. The installation went smoothly and neatly and took 2 days.  The crew moved furniture around as required and did a neat and clean job.  They also performed an excellent job on the carpeted steps. <br /> Last February Ronny and his helper also did an excellent job of installing a 3 color LVT tile, Armstrong Alterna, with grouted joints.  Not only did Ronny do a meticulous job on the installation but he spent a day prepping the floor and got all the squeaks out.  They also had to do a lot more removal and floor prep than anticipated. Ronnie took great pride in doing an excellent job. The new floor looks great in my new kitchen and I couldn't be happier! <br /> <br />"

"The technician was very professional, thorough and knowledgeable.  He arrived on time, did some extra little stuff I asked him to do, and he paid particular attention to some trouble spots I had.  All the furniture was put back exactly where it was.  I can't believe they came out on a holiday!  My carpets never looked so good.  I would never use another carpet and upholstery cleaning company- Albemarle is the best."

"There were a few hiccups along the way (a cancellation, a price reduction, a failure to schedule properly on their part) but in the end it was all installed. Unfortunately the stair tack strips were not covered very well and I may have to have at least that much revisited."

"We had bought several rugs from Wahi in the past and went back to pick out a rug for a room we were furnishing. With Adi's help, we found the perfect rug for our color scheme and were very pleased with the exceptional service. They were prompt in sending the rug to us and provided the appropriate pad. We would highly recommend Wahi for beautiful oriental and contemporary rugs."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Elizabeth City, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
