"Our home is about 9 years old and we were quite shocked to have a leak in our main water supply line coming from the street to our home. We contacted several plumbers and listened to their approach as to how they were going to determine where the leak was coming from and whether they were going to repair a section or replace the entire water supply line. After meeting with the different plumbing contractors, we learned different methods of running a new water main line since it appeared that we would need it. We received new pieces of information from each proposal. We did not like living without water, however; since it was a big financial commitment, we did not want to be pressured or feel rushed into making a quick decision. On Saturday evening we sent an email requesting a quote from Mahon Plumbing and much to our surprise, we received a call just minutes after the email was sent. An appointment was made for the next day (Sunday). Immediately after meeting Greg, the owner of Mahon Plumbing, we knew his approach was the right course of action. With 100% confidence, he knew we just needed a repair, NOT a replacement of the entire main water line. He quickly identified where the leak was originating and guaranteed that ONLY a repair was necessary thus avoiding any sidewalk, walkway, underground sprinkler system or landscaping damage. We knew he was the right person for the job. Greg was well EXPERIENCED, HONEST, UPFRONT, had INCREDIBLE INTEGRITY, AND RESPECT for protecting our home by NOT automatically approaching our project by using heavy equipment, tearing up our sidewalk, walkway, underground sprinkler system, and landscaping to make it an easier job. We hired him on the spot. We had lower estimates for the repair. Most people would have used his confidence of a repair and gone with the cheaper proposal; however, we knew that we would incur additional expenses to repair/replace our landscaping, lawn, underground sprinkler system, and walkway. In the end, if we chose the cheaper proposal, it perhaps would have cost us the same, if not more. It may have felt better to spend less upfront, but, in the long run, it was far better to hire the RIGHT person would do the RIGHT job from start to finish. It was wonderful to see our property taken care of with such pride, as if it were theirs. Our grass was restored perfectly and they even did a repair on our sprinkler line. They left our walkway, landscaping, lawn, and underground sprinkler system intact. Not only did they do a perfect job for us, they had respect for the BAY and cleaning up the debris so it wouldn’t wash into the sewer system. Sometimes you pay a little more up front, but it saves aggravation and additional unexpected expenses in the end. Separately every plumber submitted a proposal for a continuous running sump pump. Every proposal recommended that we needed to replace the sump pump. However, Mahon Plumbing suggested that it might only need to be repaired. Only the backflow valve needed to be replaced. "I had a pipe break on my hot water heater with a loud boom and it was spraying water all over my utility room. When I went downstairs I smelled gas so thought it was a gas leak. Turned off the gas to the hot water heater but couldn't turn the water off. Leaver on too tight. I called the gas company and they came out turned off the water for me and checked the gas lines. Said I need a plumber and recommended Alexander Plumbing to me. <br /> I called and left a message with my problem. They were short handed due to illness and the owner was on a call over a hour away and he came at 4:50. His wife fields the calls and she kept me updated on his location and time. When he came he put booties on and accessed my problem. He replaced the two pipes going into the hot water heater from the main line. Relit the pilet light and told us to wait about 1.5 hours for the glue to dry on the PVC pipe he used. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Explained everything to my husband and myself. Everything went so smoothly and he is reasonably priced. Will definitely use again and will recommend him to my neighbors. <br />"

"I contacted Sheridan Plumbing after seeing an overflow of my sewer line at the curb.  I spoke with the head of their plumbing dept. (may have been owner, Kevin) and he had me contact my Township water and sewer authority to check the main in the street and explained that responsibility varied by Township.  The Township came out immediately and checked all of the mains in the street and said that they were clear.  They explained that in my Township the homeowner is responsible for the sewer line from the home to the main in the street. <br /> I called Sheridan back and setup an appointment for the morning of the following day.  I did not discuss any pricing. I did discuss pricing with a customer of mine who owns a plumbing company in Philadelphia and they said that they charge $125 for a sewer line cleaning and $199 for a cleaning and camera inspection.   They are a large company so I was expecting approximately the same price.  Sheridan's technician came out and cleaned out the pipe from the house to the main and made sure all of the toilet lines were clear in the house.  I was not home so my wife handled it and discussed with him.  She did not get a quote prior to the work being completed.  After completion, the tech called me and thanked me for the business, told me what he did and gave me the price.  I felt that the price ($281 with tax) was high for the work completed and based on the quote that I received from my customer who is not licensed in New Jersey.   <br /> I would use Sheridan again based on customer service and responsiveness alone but I am presently looking to remodel 2 original bathrooms (a service that they provide) and feel that there would be more competitive pricing out there.  I will make sure I get a quote next time. <br />"
