Customers say: True professional

"Nate was hired for carpet stretching in our condo. We could not be more pleased. The service we received was superior, the final cost matched the quote, and Nate provided a thorough explanation of the work that was being completed. He treated our home and property carefully and with respect while he was working. We consider ourselves fortunate to have found a technician that provided this level of excellent service. A true professional, we have no hesitation in recommending him. A+"

"Tony responded immediately. We were concerned about the process and toxicity as we have cats His son came within a few days to do the cleaning. He was very polite, discreet and efficient. He did remarkable work as I would never have thought the stains could be eliminated and the carpet looked very clean. I would highly recommend them and definitely use their services if needed in the future."

"We did not use All About Floors, because we have not yet selected a flooring contractor, and are reluctant to use the recommended product.  The gentleman we spoke with was a co-owner, and was very nice, responsive, and knowledgeable.  We visited the show room, and he visited our home.  He was very generous with his time and advice.  He recommended the three main providers of luxury vinyl tile (LVT), but we have come to doubt the products based on information from people who had it installed.  (They did not have it installed by All About Floors.)  We have since discovered an improved LVT product from Shaw Floors, and may contact All About Floors again for an estimate of this product.

"Member comments:
Roger?s regular crew (electrician, plumber, tile guy, granite company and dry wall guys) were very professional, courteous and friendly.  As the project unfolded, we had no problem reaching Roger on the phone and getting answers to our questions or finding out what the next step would be.  We had complete trust in him and  his crew to come and go even when we weren?t home.  We especially appreciated Roger and his crew?s attention to detail to get the job done right and to our complete satisfaction.
We highly recommend Kitchen Krafters and Roger for any home remodeling project.  With his years of design and build experience, he has a good idea what people are looking for and knows how to make it happen.  We?re very happy now that we trusted his instincts and accepted his ideas.
Roger ? Many Thanks!
Dave & Rosemary"

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Elm Grove, WI

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
