He renovated the bathroom with new tiles, replacing bathroom rotten wood frame window with a vinyl frame, installing new light fixtures and repairing bathroom plumbing, repairing torn screens, as well as repainting interior walls and trim throughout the unit and installing new shades throughout. He also plastered water-damaged ceilings and cleaned and organized the basement storage area. On the exterior he replaced a rotted window frame and missing clapboards, then patched and painted the wall. Bob arrived early each day and worked diligently. Bob is a great problem solver and works with you to suggest ways to do repairs for the best outcome while keeping costs down. His work is high quality. I would definitely hire him again."

"I contacted Mulligan Painting based off reviews here and local word of mouth. They returned the call within a few hours. Came out for a quote at the time I was available and from that moment on I knew I made the right choice. Gerry (the owner) was polite, knowledgeable and very patient. I had lots of questions and concerns because of the age of the shingles and the previous materials used. He answered all my questions and eased all my concerns. The job started within a week or so once I decided on a color ( thanks to some great suggestions by Gerry). His team arrived on time and I honestly can’t say enough about ALL of them. The precautions they took draping my landscape, fences and anything that might be in their way was impressive. They were all beyond polite and helpful and got right to work. I didn’t once see a worker sitting, Texting/talking on their phones or taking advantage of the many seating areas we have in our yard. They worked hard -through some very hot days- and they take their job very serious. Kyle was the contact guy on the job and he is meticulous! Simple things like matching up the correct size to shingles that needed to be replaced to replacing slats on eve windows that I didn’t even know were a thing. They even cleaned and checked the gutters-something I would’ve had to hire another company to do had they not taken care of it-without even asking!!! Once they were done with the house they were able to restain the deck for us. Any loose paint was cleared away without a trace and done so methodically that I was able to walk out on the deck as soon as the van was packed up. I honestly can’t find a single negative thing to comment about. Clean, Polite, Affordable and just all around great bunch of workers. Feeling safe with and being able to trust unknown contractors in and around your home, and no surprise/hidden costs is something I put the highest value on. "Everything went very well (I'm attaching a variety of before & after pictures with this review). The total job took longer than expected, but that was mainly because we were not 100% ready to start when the contractors arrived (we were still dithering over colors, etc.). Marc and Grace (his project manager) checked in with both of us daily to make sure we were happy with how everything was going, even if it meant going back to re-do a couple of things if the project required it. (The house is more than 150 years old, and it took a lot of extra effort to get the floor sufficiently level for new tiling, but Marc and his team invested a lot of extra effort to get the job done right.) The final scope of work included: new granite countertops, new tile backsplash, new linoleum tile floor, painting existing cabinetry, stripping wallpaper, and installing new bead-board/baseboards/crown moldings throughout the kitchen and laundry rooms. We were pretty happy with the original layout and didn't need to move any appliances (so we only needed MA Painters for minimal plumbing and electrical work). The two biggest pieces were: 1) painting the existing cabinetry, which were not wood but laminate, so they needed to be cleaned/sanded/primed/painted, and 2) leveling the floor and installing new tiling. They also custom built a new section of cabinetry near the backdoor with space for cookbooks, tools, cubbyholes for shoes, and a spot for sorting mail and charging our electronics. The original contract also included some carpentry on our front porch to replace some columns and planks that had weathered. Terrific work all around! We've lived in this house for 17 years with a phenomenally ugly kitchen, and my only regret is that we didn't find MA Painters sooner."

"Don was very professional from first contact right on through to his follow up visit upon completing the project. He sat with us and listened to our ideas for designing the space then made recommendations balancing our extensive "want list" with our budget. This open dialog was very helpful as we took some time to refine all of the characteristics that would make the space feel comfortable and "not like a basement." Given his experiences in finishing basements, he was able to make many suggestions that resulted in a very enjoyable living space for our family. Key aspects that he handled with skill were framing in duct work and pipes allowing access to shut-offs, door sizing and closet placement optimized options for furniture placement and getting it in and out of the room. The trim, baseboards, support wraps, trophy wall and half wall for the stairwell were details that he and his team took care in doing well. The canned lights that were used provide plenty of light and with the dimmers also provide a perfect movie experience for the kids. We had two baseboard heater units installed in the main room with a thermostat and one unit with thermostat installed in the extra room. Don was very organized and this showed once work began. As he had several skilled craftsmen come in for various elements of the project, they were all made aware of every detail that was scoped out and agreed upon. There was framing, electrical, drywall and drywall finishing. We did the painting ourselves and also had a local vendor install carpet after the project was complete. Even as minor decisions and modifications were needed as work progressed, Don managed this very well.

We couldn't be happier with the end result! Thanks to Don, we now have a beautiful finished basement that we will enjoy for years to come. We highly recommend Don for the high quality service, professionalism and pride he shows in his work.

Installation was done beautifully and with a masterful eye. They also installed the new railing on the steps, which came out beautifully, too.
