"***UPDATE: North East Landscaping reached out to me after this review to discuss my concerns. I met with Lupe, and we had a great conversation. They have already begun to address those concerns, and I have re-hired them for ongoing maintenance for my yard. Thanks, Lupe!***         Hired this company to put in some improved drainage to my yard, build a couple small retaining walls out front, do some top dressing/res-seeding for my lawn, and do bi-weekly yard maintenance. Per their invoice, this includes "Lawn mowing, Edging, Line-trimming, Weed Control, Shrubs/Plants Pruning/Trimming 1-2 per year up to 6' feet, Fertilizing Turf 4-6 per year, Litter removal, Leaves removal, Blowing hardscapes, Disposal off-site all green waste/Debris materials, Leave site Tidy and Clean." Drainage work went well, as did the overall initial yard cleanup. The retaining walls turned out great as well - despite a cable line being left in between blocks of the wall and not routed above it per my explicit request. Also, twice per month, they sent a couple guys out to zip through my lawns on their powered mower, spritz some weed control, and clean things up with the leaf blower. The problems I had were with the state my lawn was left in (and, continues to be in), as well as trying to communicate with the owner (or any other decision maker). On these specific points I would give 2 stars at the absolute best. The first major concern was the fact that they scheduled all the lawn rehab first. They thatched, reseeded, and did the top dressing. I spent a good portion of my early evenings the next couple of weeks watering by hand since I don't have sprinklers. THEN, they came in to do the drainage and retaining wall work, which involved tearing up and even tramping part of the lawn that a bunch of time and effort was just spent trying to rehab, with grass trying to grow back. Wouldn't it have made sense to do that work FIRST, then do the lawn? In addition to new grass being trampled, large portions of the lawn were sopped with essentially gray mud from the stone cutting that was happening for the wall, and there was quite a bit of gravel all over it. I took several pictures that I emailed to the owner, I also called about getting him or some manager to come out and take a look at both this as well as the cable line issue with one retaining wall. I wanted to at least get some assurance that it would be addressed as part of the ongoing maintenance I was paying for. No reply or acknowledgement, even after a few tries via phone and email. The concrete mud eventually dissipated for the most part, but not only do I still have several bald spots in various places around my lawn, the area where the existing lawn was excavated and put back is all just 100% dead. I have basically a bare line right where the drain trench is. After dropping the issue for a while (due to more pressing matters in my life), I brought up the issue again in September. I wanted to have someone with authority come out and let me know what could be done, as well as discuss what might be needed for winter maintenance specifically. With the colder temperatures, I was not sure $230 a month to have them do 30 min of work twice per month was worth it. I contacted the owner via email, who asked me to fill out an online form for an estimate appointment. Probably about an hour before the scheduled appointment, I got a call from the owner. He asked if we could do the estimate over the phone, because he was running late and didn't want to drive to my place. I explained that I was, once again, hoping to have either him or some manager take a look at the state my lawn was in, and let me know what could be done - because it was due to the way in which his team did their work. I explained the state of my lawn. He said he would look up how many sq ft my yard had from their previous notes and send me an estimate. The estimate to fix his own team's work, that in part seems like it ought to have fallen under the umbrella of the monthly maintenance service ('fertilizing turf 4-6 per year') I was already paying for: a full repeat of the top dressing and re-seeding to the tune of just under $2000. When the owner would not respond to repeated requests to look at the work his team did, even when he had an appointment scheduled- the message that sent to me was that I was just not worth his time. That was the last straw. Some of my neighbors were interested in hiring them, but not after this particular experience."

"<p>We have the pleasure of living in a fantastic community with beautiful homes and lovely yards. Our yard is heavily landscaped and requires lots of maintenance that just about eats up every other week-end in the spring and summer. The yard is surrounded by a row of giant arbor vitae with a holly hedge, an ivy bed, 30-year-old rhododendrons and azaleas, sickly looking boxwood bushes, and medium-sized patches of grass that more realistically resemble a ground covering of moss and weeds. We cooked up a plan to remove all the bushes and grass replacing them with maintenance-free decorative rock thus improving the look of the yard and increasing the time we're able to enjoy it by reducing the amount of effort maintaining it.<br /> We chose to ask Landscapes by Pompeo to bid on our yard renovation after seeing the gorgeous lawn they installed at my dad's place. They transformed a large, overgrown blackberry bramble mess into a lush, green oasis that helped sell his house within one week. After meeting with Steve Pompeo to discuss the scope of work it was clear that he understood our vision for the yard and even offered insightful ideas that improved that vision. Steve offered ideas for a nicer variety of rock, a bed of flagstone on which to anchor some chairs, and even a ground covering of thyme in between the flagstones.</p> <p>I received an itemized written quote regarding the things we discussed and agreed upon. We scheduled a “start” time about a month or so out in the future because the team was finishing up a commercial job in the north end of town. We neglected to agree on a time frame within which to complete the job so I wasn’t sure just how long it would take. Steve left messages notifying us of when to expect activity (when sod would be cut and removed, when rock would be delivered, etc.) and, if he hadn’t, most days we would not have noticed that the team had come and gone; they were so neat and tidy. This was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Our experience with contractors is to expect daily messes until the job is done but Landscapes by Pompeo swept up after themselves and removed all tools at the end of every day.</p> <p>We are truly pleased with the finished product, it exceeded our expectations. My husband and I used to spend all our summer evenings out on the back deck but we are so delighted with the new front yard that we now spend a couple evenings per week out front and can’t wait to show it off to our friends and family. I am absolutely sure it will be a selling feature of our house when we choose to move on and I will definitely call Landscapes by Pompeo for the rest of the yard that needs attention.</p> <br /> <br />"

"I've used Aquasense for a few years now - first to put in a back flow system for our lawn irrigation system and a few times to tweak things. Today, Mitchell, one of their crew, came out and did an amazing job. There were several things that weren't going right with the system and Mitchell stayed...in the heat...for hours determined to resolve the issues once and for all. He did so graciously and is a great example of the professionalism of the team at Aquasense. I found them working in another yard several years back and have not been sorry for following through. Would recommend them highly to anyone!"

"Jose was very personable and professional, and explained everything that was being done. I used this company last year as well, and they were awesome both times, and their prices were very reasonable for the jobs that were done. I had them come out last week to replace 2 sprinkler heads and then noticed the next day a different sprinkler head was broken. I called the office and explained the problem, and they said they would send someone back out and not charge labor, since he was just there the day before. Jose came back out today and fixed it and only charged me for the parts! I will definitely use them again!"

"I am thrilled with their work.  I have never hired a landscaping service before because I was a landscaper/gardener myself for 12 years.  <br /> There are a few plants that I wouldn't have pruned quite as much as they did, but I gave them full reign to complete the project as they saw fit.  The pruning was done properly for plant health and overall, I am very happy with the work. <br /> I would call Jose again in a heartbeat!!!   <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Bob provided a detailed quote and answered all of my questions prior to installation. Bob's quote was better than many other companies I also contacted. The crew showed up and was very friendly and respectable. The crew did a high quality and very thorough job with the installation. They did an excellent job putting the lawn and other landscaping back in place as though you would never think any work was performed. Cleanup was great as well."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Enumclaw, WA

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
