"I cannot say enough about Dan Holm, owner of Rapid Regrout.  Our shower is totally tiled in Travertine stone tile and the curb to enter was breaking down and water was getting under the tiles. We had seven or eight contractors look at the job and got every answer under the sun. Some were priced very high because they would be ripping out the whole shower floor and redoing some of the wall tiles etc. We were very frustrated because five out of the group didn't get back to us at all!! We then contacted Dan and he responded right away making an effort to stop by and give me an estimate. He explained a couple reasons why maybe we did not get a good response from some contractors  which made a lot of sense to us. He explained exactly how he would fix our shower and offered some times to do the work. We scheduled the day and he arrived when he said he would, was extremely pleasant as was his assistant and was very meticulous about the work. All messes were cleaned up. When all was completed we asked about another problem in another bath tub surround and he offered to clean out the old grout and recaulk that tub surround while he was still hereI That looks beautiful as well as our shower!
We would highly recommend Rapid Regrout to anyone who wants tile or stone repair or do new install. This is an experienced and knowledgeable provider and you won't be disappointed. We have worked with many contractors over the years and Dan at Rapid Regrout stands out near the top of the list.

"The man who came out to do the estimate and explain project was wonderful, he was on time had information and product samples to review, he completed the bid on the spot.  Then the calls and emails started, way too many explaining what Home Depot was doing and what would happen next.  Finally an appointment to install was established, I wanted the 2 hours they needed for the start of work window but nobody showed up or called, when I called they told me there was too much snow (no snow in Duluth).  The next appointment (again a 2 hours window) nobody showed up or called, this time when I called they said it was -24 degrees and the metal wouldn't bend (it was 0 in Duluth).  I told the nice young women that I'd had enough and wanted to cancel the project because I didn't have time to wait around for an installer who was so disrespectful of my time that they couldn't make a call to cancel the appointment. Promptly a local manager called and said he was so sorry and that it wasn't the fault of the installer and would I please reconsider and reschedule a third time, and if I did he'd provide a $100 gift card to Home Depot.  This time I didn't have to be there at start of work and could review the work the next day.  The installation did happen this time and was completed satisfactorily, the manager was there promptly the next day to collect the final payment, but I never did receive the $100 gift card.

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Eveleth, MN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
