"We had a very good experience with Boston's Best Chimney, who took down our old chimney and rebuilt it, adding a new cap. They were prompt and professional, and though we had prepared ourselves for some inevitable noise from the project, there was barely any loud noise the entire day, while we were both working inside remotely with our jobs. They also contacted our adjacent neighbor, whose second floor porch received some debris from the demolition, so that by the time I called him as a courtesy just to let him know, he had already been informed and it was not an issue. The new chimney looks great from the sidewalk, and although we can't climb up onto the roof to inspect closely, we think they did a very careful job. They also completely cleaned up after the project and hosed everything down, which was much appreciated. We thought their price was reasonable and we would definitely hire them again."

"We had to have a rebuild done on our chimney. We called and Bonnie was awesome, they sent Brandon out the next day to look it over. The following week Brandon and Colby were out. They were very professional, and worked hard. What a wonderful job they did! They took away all the old bricks, and cleaned up after complete. Our chimney looks fantastic. The pricing was very affordable. Thank you Affordable Chimney!"

"Excellent! We were quoted a much higher price but once we removed the wall and they had access to the area they were going to be working in, we learned that they could use our original pipe that connected our furnace to the chimney. All they needed to do was install the liner and this saved us several hundred dollars! They left the area as clean as it was when they arrived and were very professional throughout the entire process. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and I highly recommend Boxford Chimney Sweep!"

"I hired Atlantic chimney to install a new chimney pipe, involving cutting a hole thru the roof. They installed it as scheduled. But, the 1st time there was a heavy rain, water leaked thru and got into a puddle on my wood stove, causing it to rust. They came back to look, said the pipe was leaking from the inside, although the flashing with the roof was OK. The inner pipe was scratched too, it looked as if a defective pipe might have been installed as well as there not being a proper seal on the inside. They came a second time and put a plastic bag over the chimney to keep more water from getting in and refunded the money I'd paid, then refused to do any more work to fix the problem. Coincidentally, my carpenter saw one of the techs at starbucks who told him "Bill is being an a_____ about this project and wants to walk away from it." Hopefully the refund would cover getting this chimney fixed by someone who knows what they're doing even though the rust on the stove is something we'll have to live with. In the meantime, dealing with their mess is a significant pain. Would you hire someone who did this??"

"Technicians Eric and Travis were the best ... got the job done, and went beyond ... Eric even cleaned out my gutters when I had my flashing fixed without a complaint ... just did it for me and it was a God-send ... honestly, they saved me. I have used this company for years without fail ... they're great, and I have recommended them to my family as well"

"I recently had FRS Roofing install a roof on my home. I was impressed with the way they conducted business, and I am very happy with the finished product. One of their salesmen, Joseph Costello went on my roof and filmed the issues he saw that needed attention. He showed me a video on his computer of the inspection he had just completed of my roof. He then showed me his suggestion of what should be done and also had samples of the materials that FRS would use on the roof replacement. I was impressed with the materials that would be used and chose FRS to replace my roof. I watched the roofers replace the roof and perform the work and cleanup. After the job was complete Joseph Costello once again went on the roof and filmed the finished product for me to view on his computer. Very happy with the entire process, Thank You."

"At the beginning it seemed that Chimney USA would have the expertise to complete the work well. There were some waiting on parts, that wasn’t a big problem at the time because I wanted it done right. The estimate listed that they would remove the front stone work to be able to get to the steel box fire box for removal and install new steel firebox, then replace all the stone work. Neither one of these parts was done. The 4 metal vents weren’t removed and replaced, the ash door was not installed. There seemed to be a problem figuring out how to get the steel firebox manufactured and to have it installed. The steel firebox was needed so that the side heating vents in the fireplace would work to bring heat into the room. As time went on, there was no resolution to get the firebox and install it. Very frustrating. I finally made the decision to just build the firebox using firebrick. This was a mistake now because there is no exchange of heat for the room vents now. We agreed to have grey firebrick and they installed a grey “cement” (not a fire brick and wouldn’t stand up for the heat of a fire) brick and the installation wasn’t complete to seal off the firebox. The masons didn’t seem to know what they were doing. This would mean that smoke would fill the room. I texted, sent photos, and sent a video of the issues and Chimney USA decided to send their masons back out the next day to fix this problem. This time they didn’t have the grey firebrick, but only red firebrick. They removed the grey “concrete” bricks and installed the red firebricks. None of the workers spoke English which made communication difficult. They had to use a translation app on their phone to communicate with each other. The masons didn’t understand that the firebox had to be completely sealed off so smoke wouldn’t enter the room. Finally, that firebox was complete, but not what I was expecting. The ash door was never found to fit my opening and never installed. The rock face removal and steel firebox was never completed. Those costs were far more expensive than just building the brick firebox. Their cost for the custom stone removal and install of the face of my fireplace was estimated at $3,200 and the steel firebox with damper was estimated at $2,135. Total of $5,335. This was taken off Angi on what it should have cost just to do what they did which was to remove the steel firebox and build a brick firebox. “How Much Does Firebox Repair or Replacement Cost? [2024 Data] Normal range: $160 - $750 Firebox repair or replacement costs $455 on average, but it can cost between $160 and $750, depending on the project's scope and details.” Based on this I’m being charge almost $5,000 for work not complete. This should have been adjusted based on the work complete and the estimate scaled down to represent the job completed. They want me to pay the whole original estimate. I contacted Chimney USA to say that the bill needed to be updated with a lessor amount based on the final work, but they didn’t respond, except to keep sending me the same estimate bill to be paid in full."
