"From start to finish, the process was very smooth and professional. Everyone we had contact with was amazing: Diane, Greg, Chris, and Doug. Diane was the salesperson and she was amazing - VERY prompt, professional and responsive. She was able to get us the detailed specs on the carpet we were looking for and also answered my many questions without hesitation. The installation crew was also amazing. Greg, the installation manager, was willing to work with me and answer any questions I had. The installers, Chris and Doug, were top notch. Very nice and professional. They took their time and paid great attention to detail - making sure things were done right. The job turned out gorgeous! Thanks, Classic Carpet!"

"This company did an excellent job. They were especially careful as they tore out the old kitchen floor and installed a new ceramic tile floor. They were very attentive to detail throughout the entire job. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the installers and the final ceramic tile floor. I would recommend them to anyone."

"I highly recommend locally-owned business, Flooring galaxy. The owner, Michael is knowledgeable about his products, came out personally to measure for flooring and delivered the wood himself. He is always available to answer questions and lend a hand. When we struggled to match the wood floor vents to the wood floor color, he recommended a professional (Austin) who did a marvelous job. He offers superior customer service that you won’t get at most places."

"We had 3 bids that we thought were costly. called the carpet network and kanden was our salesman. He came out to Waterloo Illinois because we just inherited a house out here. He showed us a great carpet and padding and gave us an unbeatable price!! He was very professional and friendly. There was some pet damage so he recommended to seal the floor with kilz. Ron and Tom did great on the installation they were kind and did outstanding work! Highly recommend. Went above and beyond to make sure we were very happy with the whole process. A++ if your looking for great work, great people and unbeatable prices this is the company to go with!!!!"

"I have been in this house for 14 years, and I have used them twice a year every year. My carpeting always comes out looking brand new. They were out about a month ago, and they did a wonderful job. In the mean time I had men coming in and going out, that were painting and everything, and my dog had an accident on the carpeting. So, I had them come out on Saturday and they took care of it, it was perfect. So they came out only because of me, not because of them. Just for them to come out just that one time and do what I needed them to do it cost $45.00. I only have carpet in the living room, dining room, and hallway. Usually, it cost me about $130.00. I refer my friends to this cleaning service all the time because there could be nobody better. As I said when they leave, my carpet is over 14 years old, it looks like brand new carpet. Granted, the carpeting is good or it wouldn't look like brand new carpet, but it looks great."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Fairview Heights, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
