"After an extensive investigation taking into account online feedback/reviews and speaking to other construction firms, I decided on Nunez Construction to fully renovate my entire house consisting of three separate apartments. Efren (the owner) was able to fully understand the work required and also suggested additional modifications; some requiring no additional cost which made quite a difference to the appearance and functionality of the units. "I found Dave here on angies list and did the usual reference checking and house visits of his past work. Each client had only great things to say which was very reassuring considering the amount of money and trust that is involved in the process. Dave and his crew were great, each day showing up around 7am to start work and always cleaning up each day. His subs did great work and had great explanations for why they did things the way they did for my education. Dave was always there to manage his subs and ensure that things were done to what he prefers and was always in contact with me to make sure that that particular work was done to my satisfaction. This type of remodeling always has things that come up for extra work and cost and dave was great about adjustments and pricing. He was always fair and always did what was necessary and did not try to sell us more. He treated this job as if it was his own basement. In the end, the job was more than what he initially quoted but again, with permits, inspections, and unforeseen work that is required during renovations it was a great outcome that you can see in my pictures. Please be aware that basement finishing requires that the owner do maintenance to prepare for the living space. This includes foundation repairs, water management (if there are leaks, fix them, heavy rains that causes rain to come in, window well water management with french drains etc) that is required by you to understand how your house behaves. You should fully understand and resolve these issues before you start this journey. Thankfully i did such a thing, and cannot be more happy and feel safe that water penetration will not happen once dave came and finished. Additionally, closing the furnace area into a now room requires that you provide adequate ventilation for it to burn. Dave assisted me in the end with a vent on the wall to allow for proper intake as you can see from the pictures. I cannot stress enough that people need to be educated on how basements are done and what can and cannot be done for yours. Dave was a great partner in this process and I cannot recommend him and his team more so for your next project. I will always be using him in the future and I hope that anyone reading this will do so as well."

This is the 2nd major project I contracted Art DeRosa & Co for.  The 1st being 4 years ago a major living room/family room renovation which was hugely successful.  That 1st experience led me to award Art (after several other competitive quotes) this 2nd and far larger & more complex project.

Overall it went well but this was a complicated project encompassing all the typical trades and expertise of building a new luxury house but far more complicated because it was a renovation performed while we were living in the home. Dust partition walls with wood framing had to be erected in several locations in the house which included temporary doors for entering and egress in certain areas of the remaining living areas of the house in order to protect the remaining house from dust and demolition , as well as, provide privacy for us during construction. 

Experience, Experience, Experience and Professionalism, Professionalism, Professionalism are the hallmarks of Art DeRosa and company.  He is a seasoned performer and pretty much seen it all.  Art has such a vast amount of home construction experience in both hi-end and medium end homes that he can draw upon a wealth of knowledge in all construction disciplines to implement a fine finished result.  As a former tool and die maker his penchant for hi-precision finish work yields highest quality appearances to things like moldings; trim; windows; doors; floors; etc. etc. 

This complex renovation project lasted 7 months which was within the initial time estimate given at the beginning and Art DeRosa and team were here every single day, day in and day out,  bright and early during that time frame. He did not start any other projects and stayed on the job day-in and day-out even when other sub-contractors such as plumbers and electricians were on the job site excluding his people from doing any other work. Art DeRosa and team were here every single day until final signoff.

I would not hesitate to recommend Art DeRosa & Co for any planned New House and/or House Renovation of any kind.
