"Rob Potter is the best solution for any mold problems you are experiencing. I had mold growth in my home and was suffering mold illness. I was given Rob Potter's name and his company, and he completely removed the mold issues in my home. My health greatly improved and I am well now. His experience and knowledge of mold remediation is outstanding and his communication is clear and trustworthy. I recommend Rob Potter for any mold remediation you need. "The service was $1050 and the person who did it was in our house for less than an hour. He sprayed bleach on the wood and cut a couple inches of sheetrock out. He left it messy even though they charged $260 just for vacuuming. I feel like I could have sprayed my own bleach and saved $1047 dollars. We were still sick after he left and there was still evidence of mold in different places. I would have given one star but he did come back and spray it again after we reached out personally. He was here about fifteen or twenty minutes the second time. Overall really expensive and not really worth it. If I knew they just spray bleach I would have done it myself. "

Small jobs welcome

Mold Detection Pros has quickly become the highest rated mold inspection company in Utah because of our unique approach. We've chosen to only focus on testing for mold rather than testing & removal. By doing so, we've eliminated the inherent conflict of interest that have cost home owners thousands in unecessary repairs. This means we can provide better results and more clarity on what to do next.

"I was absolutely blown away by how thorough and professional Cody's inspection was. The home had been inspected twice (due to other potential buyers) prior to Cody coming in, and he caught issues that the previous inspectors had completely overlooked. He explained each issue concisely and in a way I could understand, having no construction background. His report was detailed and had dozens of pictures of each issue. I would absolutely recommend Inspection Specialists to anyone needing a top notch home inspection. Thanks so much, Cody!"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Farmington, UT

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
